The final day of the Shemitah year, Elul 29 on the Hebrew calendar, began at sundown Saturday and Rosh Hashanah, also called the Feast of Trumpets, starts Sunday at sundown.
Among those who have been studying and teaching on the seven-year Shemitah cycle, the expectations have varied wildly. The Hebrew word “Shemitah” can be interpreted as “release” or “collapse,” which has led to predictions of stock market collapses and economic doom, wars, natural disasters and the period of time Jesus referred to as the “beginning of sorrows.”
Jonathan Cahn, who lifted the Shemitah out of Old Testament obscurity (it is found in Leviticus 25:1-7 and Deuteronomy 15:1-3) with his New York Times-bestseller “The Mystery of the Shemitah,” said judgment, in the form of a “great shaking” is coming to America and the world. The last two Shemitah years, 2000-01 and 2007-08, brought record stock market collapses, similar to the collapses in the Shemitah years of 1973, 1980 and 1987.
He told WND that he noticed two signs in the final days of the current Shemitah – one involving the collapse of a structure in Saudi Arabia on Sept. 11 and the other a rainbow in New York City.
“Very strange. In the last days of the Shemitah, two striking signs. A storm causes destruction on Islam’s central mosque in Mecca (on Sept. 11). At the same time a rainbow appears (Sept. 10) over the tower at Ground Zero,” he said. “Many immediately took this as a good sign. Yet, it was not long ago that America desecrated the sign of the rainbow by using a vessel of God to celebrate the Supreme Court’s striking down the biblical definition of marriage.”

Perhaps you have already seen this article regarding the strange goings-on in the Shmitah year, occuring every seven years, the 7th year where the earth remains fallow, no farming is allowed, food grown is forbidden to be consumed or sold.
But people, Christian and Jew, had expected these strange occurrences, due to the phenomena occurring seven years ago during the most recent Shmitah year.

There were other photos taken of the rainbow, but because of where the pics were taken, the rainbow did not appear to be directly over/occurring at Ground Zero so they are not getting the same publicity as this one photographer’s pictures.

I had a dream a few years back that I was at an Inauguration and a rainbow appeared behind me at the Lincoln Memorial. I think it was Sarah Palin getting sworn in but I can’t remember. All I know was that people were all turning around and looking at the rainbow behind them as the new president was speaking.
yes, the Bible IS clear that we are caught up with Christ but it’s at His return, not 7 years before, where some cruel ‘god’ leaves unbelievers languishing for by themselves.
find a Calvary Chapel to attend. They go through the Bible verse by verse to teach what it all means; the root words and culture.
I actually saw a story that had pictures of the rainbow from other photographers and thus other angles so it was not as dramatic as the ‘rainbow over/occurring at GZ’ photos .... of course, I can’t find the link now.

Seriously, what are the odds of a rainbow in New York over the Freedom Tower the day before 9/11, then lightning to hit Mecca causing death the next day. Each one separately could be dismissed but for both of them to happen in and around each other on 9/11 is pretty amazing. What more of a sign do you need?

Whatever. There is a rainbow around the throne of God in heaven. If you knew anything about the Bible, you would know this.
