Uh Oh… Looks Like Ben Carson is Openly Embracing Amnesty

I like Ben Carson. A lot. But he isn’t without flawed positions.

His 2nd Amendment misstep a few years ago is one he’s somewhat redeemed himself for. But when it comes to his support of amnesty, this one is current and he’s going to have a difficult time backtracking.

In fact, Ben Carson’s position on dealing with what is now probably closer to 20 million illegal immigrants is really no different than that of Jeb Bush. I know some Carson fans are going to hate me for saying this, but Ben Carson is openly declaring he’s for amnesty.

For starters, when asked about deportation, Carson said “many of them have never known any other country … so where are you going to send them?”

Well, my question is… why is that our problem? They have a home country of origin. That’s where they need to go. This is not their country!

Then Carson said we must “provide them a way so that they don’t have to hide in the shadows” and “give them an opportunity to become guest-workers–they have to register, they have to enroll in a back tax program.”

Let’s not pretend this is something that it’s not. It’s amnesty. It’s almost exactly what Jeb Bush wants.

And that’s a shame.

H/T: Breitbart.

>>With someone the quality of Ted Cruz, I can’t believe anyone conservative is considering anyone else. Just sayin...<<

You and Sen. Cruz are in the same position, wondering when Trump will finally bite the dust, and also wondering why so many conservatives are dedicated to seeing Trump prevail.

Meanwhile, every inane insult by Trump drives more and more people to the Trump personality opposite, Dr. Carson. Gotta be driving Sen. Cruz and his core supporters to drink.

If anyone thinks that Trump is in this for anyone but himself... He could not care less for any conservative or the grass roots. And his support for his bluster has surprised no one more then himself.

It’s to prove they aren’t racist. Of course, supporting him because he’s a clean cut, articulate, smart black man with no experience proves they didn’t learn anything over the past seven years.

I think if he was white, he would be at 3 or 4 percent like the rest of the pack

>>I can’t figure why Carson is doing so well in the polls. The guy puts me to sleep.<<

You know, that’s not all bad, doing well in the polls without drawing attention from the media by saying something they can’t resist focusing on for a news cycle or two.

I’m sure Walker, Kasich, Christie, Paul, and Cruz would all love to be in Carson’s position right now for instance.

I never understood the appeal of Carson, and before him Cain. Is it because there are a lot of conservatives who are itching to find a black candidate they can support, and they’ll go for any black that puts an R after his name?

Far and away the best of them all, head and shoulders above, is Col. Allen West.

You might be right.

Still, some of us see an advantage to electing someone who very likely would break the Democrat stranglehold on the black vote and who isn’t consistently angering the fastest growing voting group in the country, i.e., LEGAL Hispanic citizens.

Dr. Carson, like most of the GOP candidates, has a lot of positions to flesh out and some of them will change over time, but to compare him to President Obama is a real stretch. To me they’re polar opposites.

And as I’ve said repeatedly in the past, if you’re looking for a candidate who’s not for some form of amnesty, you won’t find one to vote for. And that includes Donald Trump. Oh, you can vote for him, but you’ll find that he’s not the NO AMNESTY champion people perceive him to be.

“Yes, is a talented surgeon, but he’s no conservative.”

That’s right and Trump should’ve stuck to that particular criticism instead of going on and challenging Carson’s qualifications as a surgeon. Instead, Trump should’ve clearly pointed out that being a surgeon and, indeed, a great surgeon does not make a man capable of running the whole country or deciding about immigration issues about which he knows virtually nothing.

Carson said the country must “provide them a way so that they don’t have to hide in the shadows” and “give them an opportunity to become guest-workers–they have to register, they have to enroll in a back tax program.” “And if they want to become citizens they have to get in the line with everyone else… because we have to pay homage to people who’ve done it the right way,” Carson added.

Mexicorruption has already asserted their conditions for a guest worker program.

Guest workers? Ben, we have a problem

. . . before there could be a guest worker agreement Mexicorruption officials specified that

Castañeda imposed the requirement that

It was pretty much on track to become law no matter what Americans thought but we were attacked by yet another enemy on 9/11 2001. From various sources including including this 2002 FR thread

Is Carson already a practicing politico to where he can feel that "we'll handle that matter when we get elected. We can count on support from the immigration industry and crony capitalism to silence the people."?

You make a fair point about the dem vote, but I did not compare him to Obama. Also some polls (if they are to be believed) have Trunp at 25% on the black vote

Historically, conservatives abandon the rule of law when convenient, as in religious liberty, tax protests, throwing tea in the harbor, etc.

I think Ben Carson is probably a really brilliant doctor. I don’t want him taking the 3:00AM phone call or letting the lefties take my guns.

Carson has backers that we know not of. I’m not asking anyone to believe me; just to be vigilant and watch.

““Back taxes”, “Pay a fine”, “Learn English”, “Go to the back of the line” Those are buzz phrases the amnesty pushers use to hoodwink the public. Oh, and “secure the border” ... Yeah, right.”

Agree. I’m getting close to writing a vanity on Carson and it won’t be nice. 10 years ago Carson was hot and heavy in the surgical world - there was no way he could have been closely following the Amnesty debate that was raging in Congress then. Yet, he seems now to have picked up the talking points from that debate - particularly “back taxes”. Back taxes is the term I remember most, because to this day, I have NO IDEA how you prove that people paid in cash owe taxes. Not to mention that if their incomes and filing status’s are what I suspect they are, those back taxes will be NEGATIVE, in that by filing, they will be owed THOUSANDS, due to the Earned Income Credit as well as other tax credit. No one seems to point that out either.

The Republican elite OBVIOUSLY has a new strategy - rather than supporting Jeb, they now are supporting whoever has the best chance of beating Trump, and they don’t care who that ends up being - even Cruz is preferable to Trump, for them, since they can still control the dollars flowing to Cruz.

But Carson, for the Elites, is a dream-come-true. Being black, it will be very hard for others to knock him down, and unfortunately there is still a boatload of white guilt in the Republican Party...so he gets to use that against Trump. If Carson does somehow beat Trump, we’ll find him no better prepared than Romney to do battle against the Dems, and perhaps even less prepared to run as a candidate than Perry/Cain - it will be an unmitigated DISASTER for us and the country.

But Karl Rove will still have his job funneling money in exchange for Open Borders, and Frank Luntz will still have his job convincing our candidates that the giant elephant in the room is Rush Limbaugh, not Amnesty - even though the 12 inch lettering on both sides of the elephant says Amnesty. And we will lose...but they get to keep their cushy jobs for another 4 years.

Ben Carson, excellent pediatric neurosurgeon, good family man , just not ready for primetime. In a way, you get to appreciate the long drawn out selection process for president. The wrong candidates eventually self destruct under the scrutiny.

At least Cain sounded legitimately conservative though his woman problems didn't help and what I suspect was "chemo brain" which caused him to be less than articulate in some interviews.

I suspect it is GOPe influence and the desire of white conservatives to push someone they hope would appeal to the black community. Not necessarily to show that they aren't racist but that is probably part of it. Allen West is really my preferred candidate over Cruz (2nd) and definitely over Trump.
