Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said this morning that President Obama will win the "short-term battle" because Congress will not be able to block the Iran nuclear deal.
But he said Republicans, and the Democrats who oppose the president, have "won the argument with the American people."
"There is overwhelming opposition to the deal. The Israelis oppose the deal. Our Sunni Arab allies are nervous and apprehensive now, feeling they can't trust us anymore," he told Bill Hemmer.
McConnell said he believes the issue has a "long shelf life" and that the debate will continue until Americans "render judgment" on Election Day 2016.
McConnell said Senate Democrats have used a "procedural device" to prevent a motion of disapproval, which would then be vetoed by Obama.
House Speaker John Boehner is considering a lawsuit to stop the deal, while Sen. Ted Cruz has proposed going after U.S. banks that release money to the Iranians.
McConnell said he will explore any proposal by his fellow Republicans.

This is the same line of BS that he spewed about Obamacare. The GOP may have had its butt handed to it and Obamacare was passed, but we can use that to win elections. Hey dopey, what’s the point of winning elections if you can’t do anything?
*************** Well Mitch, we don't trust you and your like-minded Republicans in the senate either. You all caved and allowed Obama to pass this treaty (yes, that's exactly what it is) without the constitutionally required 2/3 approval. You and your corrupt pals in the senate failed us and we will not forget in 2016.
...and then the fourth box.
Is it me, or are these imbeciles talking about winning a game of political hopscotch?
People are going to die, perhaps many, many people, and we have these dolts talking about we won this or we won that! Same thing with Obama, all the corrupt MSM is crowing about this foreign policy victory for Obama and against the GOP’s effort to “sabotage the deal” (their term).
Great. Just great. It’s all about politics to these jokers. Besides, I am convinced that McConnell is merely engaging in political theater. Now that the deed has been done the GOPe types are talking a mean game. Tell me about the Corker bill — Mitch!
Same old political acting, and bad acting at that.
I think 0’s got some footage of McConnell on his knees in some adult bookstore arcades. He just happened to see him first.
What a ****ing loser McConnell is.
****************
The fact that he is still in his job tells you everything you need to know about the Republican Party.
I’ll keep McTurtle’s words in mind when the mushroom cloud appears over Tel Aviv.
No, more Bull and Shia! Only a simpering idiot and cowered thinks that getting cornholed is a positive.
He should go F himself sans lubricant. They need to become history faster than 8-tracks.
But ask me how I really feel about our representatives?
What excuse do the fools in Kentucky have for foisting this eunuch/traitor on the country?
What a stupid ahole.
You’ll hear the “lesser evil” concept as the explanation.
Twenty NINE feet and a highly polished gold please. Attended to by virginal beauty queens and fanned with imported palm fronds.
The elitist traitors, including the president and congress, want to murder Americans by the millions and will use a nuclear Iran to kill us. Americans stand in the way of their fascist fantasy of a one world government where they become royal tyrants, ruling over the groveling serfs.
This **** male **** **** McConnell **** turtle-faced **** will **** and can **** in his **** ****.
And I mean that!
Yeah, we won the argument while the bad guy makes off with all the money.
Oh don’t be harsh! FR provided Mitch with PLENTY of drooling sycophants too in the other 56 states.
It’s a lesser evil you know.
