He says it's not what he said, then he says it's what he says.
It's creepy.
"During a Thursday morning interview on "Fox and Friends," Trump was asked if he did in fact make the comments quoted in Rolling Stone.
The real estate mogul first noted that "the pictures in the magazine were magnificent" and that "overall, it was probably a pretty good story."
He then said, "Probably I did say something like that about Carly," adding later that he said it "in a jocular manner." He also said it wasn't about her appearance.
"Im talking about persona. Im not talking about looks," he said on Fox. TPM
That may be true. The damage is done.
It’s so cool how Trump lives rent free before blowing heads up!
What I find humorous is the way everybody takes an ambiguous Trump statement and reads into it what they will.
Last month it was Trump talking about Megyn Kelly menstruating. This month he says Carly is ugly.
Except, those aren’t the words he used, in either case.
Journalists and political opponents are going to comb through every utterance Trump makes for something that can be construed as sexist. If he doesn’t say it, they’ll try and manufacture it.
Heck, Carly is on video having a hot mike moment making disparaging remarks about Barbara Boxer’s looks. Is Carly going to be vilified for it?
The minute Trump apologizes for something that isn’t black and white, irrefutably indefensible, he’s effectively silenced, since he’s allowed others to define his words.
I’m no Trump fan, but I’ve come to believe it’s Trump or GOPe. None of the other candidates has a chance to take down Bush.
His comment has nothing to do with politics. He has all that money and no class at all. A pity really.
I saw the video and fail to find what was creepy. He explained it was persona. Okay, I’m fine with that. I’d much rather concentrate on what we can do to turn this nation around than concentrate on what Trump may or may not think of this woman.
Yup. The petty little whiner is still your man! Burn it all down! Let’s not reason together, let’s destroy anything that gets in lord Trump’s way. And who knows, maybe you’re his next victim! Fun!
Hitch your star to this wagon at your own (and the country's) peril. I guarantee it will not end well.
“Out of the mouth the heart speaks.”
It’s not Trump’s mouth that’s the issue. It’s his darkened heart, a proud heart full of pettiness and anger toward anyone who gets in his way.
+1
Facts don’t matter to Trump’s supporters. Just destruction. Trump is a destroyer, bent on “burning it all down.” And that appeals to emotion-driver, low-information FReepers.
If you don’t find Trump’s 8 minute appearance this morning on Fox and Friends disturbing and creepy, then we are miles and miles apart on what those words mean.
His class is that he tells it like he sees it and is unafraid to do so.
His class is also that he is not afraid to be himself and no amount of money can protect a person from being personally vulnerable (which is why he appears so thin-skinned).
His class is genuity, authenticity.
You may not like him, but Trump is Trump. Nothing more, nothing less.
I am guessing that you harbor some anger because your favorite candidate is not winning. I was originally a Cruz supporter.
But as they say, it is what it is.
Here is my observation. You appear to hate Trump more than you support Walker.
Here’s a tip. Nothing negative you post about Trump is going to help Walker in the polls. But if you just enjoy hating on Trump, then okay. Have your fun. It’s a creepy hobby, but maybe it beats trying to muster enthusiastism for your guy.
You fell for Bill Clinton’s explanation that it wasn’t really sex, too, right?
Look at Trump’s original statement about Fiorina. It’s obvious that he’s talking about her ... wait for it, wait for it ... “face.” As in “face,” not “persona.”
I don’t hate Trump.
Nice try to make this about me.
I don’t want this borderline personality anywhere near the levers of power.
This perception is shared by many on FR. It's just not true. We are 10 months away from the GOP national convention. A lot will happen between now and then.
Not true. Politics in this case is about evaluating the candidates. He is saying that one can, in part, see who a person/candidate is in their facial expression.
And that is a true statement. Case in point, take a look at Hillary's face. Isn't that exactly who she is? Pursed lips signifying a stiffness of personality. Her eyes showing us how haughty she is. Her wrinkled skin telling us how brittle and inflexible she is. Her chin in the air telling us that she believes she is better than us--that she believes she is a kind of royalty.
I’ve liked Trump all along, just a little less now. His arrogance and condescending attitude is wearing thin for me. I like his honesty but really sometimes it’s best to say nothing. Shouldn’t a man of his stature know this by now?
Will you take the pledge?
Trump took the pledge not to run as an independent.
If Trump is the Republican nominee, will you take a pledge now to support the Republican nominee? Will you support Trump if he is the nominee?
