Low class Huckster.
That was a very bad move by Huck. Cruz invited Trump and allowed him to speak on the Iran deal because its not about him
Why bite on these stories? They are written by people who do not like either Cruz or Huckabee. They are for stirring up trouble. Who cares?
It is true that Huckabee’s people planned the event BEFORE anyone knew Kim would be released. I doubt they have much money so doing something like this is a big deal. Cruz was there? So what? Why cry over who got how much face time? Neither candidate can afford this squabble. More importantly, this issue is so vital that everyone should just step back and ignore the rabble-rousers.
What conservatives have in ideas and principles they too often lack in being able to see a trap and avoid it. No one wins with mutually assured destruction. Those who set up these stories are hoping for exactly that: A two-fer.
Absolutely amazing. Trump and Cruz both showing more class and grace than the Baptist preacher.
Hmmmmmm.
Maybe not so amazing.
Cruz might have underestimated Huck’s touchiness. Not a fatal problem, but one that could suggest more wisdom in the future. He knew that he and Huck were practically on the same page here. So some effort at comity would have helped. He knows about comity with Trump.
Not to scold or shame, but to hope that greater wisdom might prevail in the future. The Founding Fathers were teamwork, not some egotistical squabble that bitterly spat George Washington into the top spot. If they knew something even though their politics sometimes harshly clashed, then maybe moderns can learn too.
And so the finger pointing goes on ever more afresh.
This gets old. FWIW Huck isn’t even that marvelous a Baptist preacher. But why are we in circular firing squads.
I'm not sure about who was where when, but I don't think Huckabee did invite Cruz early on. It sounds like once Cruz was already there in town, Huck invited him to meet Kim Davis, but he didn't invite him to come to Kentucky.
According to some accounts, Ted Cruz was closer to Davis and would have been the first to meet her but one of Huck's aides blocked his way. Huckabee looks bad for complaining about what happened.
I'm wondering, though, if the show were on the other foot -- if Cruz set up the rally and Huck crashed it -- if people would feel the same way about what happened.
Yeah, it was either a Presidential event or it was to help a fine American standing up for her 1st amendment rights. Cruz allowed Trump in to his event because - obviously - he is a decent man who puts America before politics.
[[Mike Huckabee surprised Ted Cruz showed up at Kim Davis rally: It was our event]]
For crying out loud- Huck should be thankful that another republican had the GUTS to support Kim, and he should have embraced Ted and welcomed ALL the help he can get in the kim cause-
Now huck just looks l ike he was pandering for votes by being seen with kim after saying crap like that
I'd guess you traded GOP unity for you being a media whore and staging a cheesy photo-op. Huckster, you soon will treading in Jeb territory.
This should’ve been a Davis event, not a Huckster event. The fact that Huck made him his event shows that he doesn’t care much about Davis at all and using her for publicity
First time any of us have ever seen a presidential candidate crash another candidates event without so much as reaching out to get permission to attend...
Uhhh, you invited him????

Well said.
Mike Huckabee paid for that microphone and Ted Cruz crashed it. LOL.
Sorry Gov...but this should have been completely about Kim Davis, and not “whose event,” it was.
You people should not have blocked Cruz...particularly since by your own admission YOU invited him to come.
I did not see Cruz trying to take over anything. Of course the press asked him questions.
Rather than whine like this...IMHO you should discipline the person who tried to block Cruz and apologize on their behalf, and then say...without reservation...that Cruz was welcomed.
Instead, you are attaching all sorts of qualifiers to the “welcome,” and throwing around excuses and reasons it was Cruz’s fault and how the event was “your,” event...making it about you and not Kim Davis.
Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
Also it wasn’t Huck but a Huck agent who intercepted Cruz. Who knows what the agent was believing to be the right thing to do, or why.
Folks seem to be so quick to get incensed and to figure out things to blame.
Somebody on this forum once referenced huckabee as a potato with toothpick legs. I still laugh about that to this day.
Looks like we have a few of those.
Evangelicals need to coalesce around Ted Cruz....Huckabee is about Huckabee...a snake oil salesman.
