As Europe grapples with the mass migration of more than 300,000 refugees fleeing war in Syria, Republican presidential candidate Scott Walker wont say whether the United States should open its doors to absorb more of the migrants.
Walkers reason for not taking a stand is that he says it would be hypothetical for him to do so since he is not currently the president.
I'm not president today and I can't be president today, the Republican presidential candidate and Wisconsin governor said when asked by ABC News during a press gaggle on Monday what he would to address the current refugee crisis if he were president currently. Everybody wants to talk about hypotheticals; there is no such thing as a hypothetical.

I’m not president today and I can’t be president today,
Appears he doesn’t want to be president tomorrow either.
Yes, and he will NEVER be president. Loser needs to quit before he completely destroys what’s left of his reputation.
“Hundreds” signing some goofy petition/mailing list does not mean that Americans want these “refugees” here. Why would we want people who run rather than stand up and fight for their country? We’ve already got some of those here.
I do not understand what’s happened to Walker. He has lost any compass in this race. He was my first choice, but he is going to fade out of memory soon if he doesn’t offer something coherent on anything.
My guess is the consultants got a hold of him, and ruined him.
Yup
Giving a slimy politician’s answer to a serious policy question is, in my mind the best way ever to lose any election.
The idiot could of said something like we have accepted millions of refugees from the Western Hemisphere and places like Southeast Asia.
What a disingenuous response. The majority of the questions any candidate gets (and answers) are hypothetical "what would you do" type questions.
This x 1000!
And to top that it’s a lot of establishment consultants that are advising him. He’s a idiot for hiring them
I’m tired of hearing this guys name!
Please make it stop!
Go back to Wisconsin and STFU!
He has to have been given $$$$$ from the big “e” and assured a top spot in consideration for the V.P. (Like Rubio)
Hypothetical questions are the media’s favorite “gotcha” theme. “What about cases of rape and incest?”
Those "political consultants" are still reading the same play books that lost the Dole, McCain and Romney races, yet still get invited to the same parties and treated as though they've actually accomplished something!
It’s a phony gotcha question but he could have handled it better than this.
Because he hasn't yet crafted a position that brings him down firmly on both sides of the issue.
Thus facilitating what is now becoming a SILENT INVASION.
This is probably the case. It should be added, though, that he hired the consultants and he listened to them. As a (former) Walker supporter I'm very disappointed that he appears not to have the internal compass or the spine that he was touted as having.
