For decades he has swaggered through life conquering women, chain smoking and saving the world, untroubled by the sensitivities of the 21st century.
In a new book, however, James Bond will be getting a dose of modern morality, as author Anthony Horowitz reveals the tricks he used to drag the spy kicking and screaming into the era of political correctness.
Horowitz, the writer of new Bond novel Trigger Mortis, said he had worked carefully to preserve Ian Flemings original character and ensuring his 1950s attitudes remained in tact.

If you read Live and Let Die from a modern perceptive one would swear that Leiter is a homosexual. One scene he tells Bond he sleeps in the nude and another seen he is looking Bond up and down while smiling.
Whats sexual orientation to do with talent?.
Queen and Freddie Mercury would have made great Bond themes. Shirley Bassey though straight famously has a huge gay following. Madonna is bi-sexual.
Tom Hardy is a very handsome man.
You picked a dodgy pic of him, well done. Even Connery had bad pics.
Craig is 5-11.
And Craig has been the best Bond since Connery. Casino Royale and Skyfall were superb.
He never said he was too old, he just got sick of them. He left first time at only 36/37.
And Tom Hardy is a brilliant young actor. I suggest you educate yourself and watch some of his films. Best British actor of his generation.
I am a film buff and follow the British film scene closely. Also a fan of him (superb actor).
I also have worked (briefly) in the UK film business and have friends still there. So I know all the gossip and whats true and not.
I don’t think Hardy was being serious. And you wouldn’t be the first Yank to not ‘get’ dry British humour.
No thanks. Star Trek Nemesis was enough for me. I will give him this: at least he TRIED (but utterly failed) to do justice to the role of "Shinzon, Picard's evil clone". That's more than I can say for George Clooney, who portrayed "Batman" as "Look, I'm George Clooney wearing a Batsuit."
I would rank Sean Connery as far and away the best James Bond, with Timothy Dalton in a distant second (shame he only got to two films and the scripts for both were subpar). Dalton could have come close to Connery if given Casino Royale or Skyfall, that material was far better than Craig was in the role.
If you truly think Craig is the "best Bond ever" and Hardy totally fits the part, we simply have vastly different ideas about who James Bond is. Ian Fleming repeatedly stated what Bond looked like (his first choice was David Niven), and it isn't remotely like Craig or Hardy. Also, one major part of the character since the beginning is Bond's utter suave charm that masks his ability to kill a man without batting an eye -- something Craig completely lacks as he always looks pissed off and hung over and the only reason women fall head over heals for him is because the script requires them to.
It reminds me when Tim Burton turned Willy Wonka into a hybrid of Marilyn Manson & Michael Jackson, which some people insisted was "closer to the book" in their strange, twisted world. Then there's the recent Superman reboot (at least that guy LOOKED the part), where numerous "fans" of the film sneered at the decades old tradition of Superman being an inspiring boy scout like figure, and said they were never "into" Superman, until the character was "updated" to a "realistic, grounded" portrayal of a killing machine with the personality of a wooden plank. We simply have totally different ideas about who Superman is, and how he should be depicted on film. End of story.

I'd actually agree with the scotsman on this point. Hardy's creepy private life really doesn't matter if he's a talented actor who can become the character on screen. For example, Ian McKellen is a flaming homo and bitter jackass in real life, while he does an excellent job portraying the wise and stotic Gandalf on screen. Hardy's personal life isn't the issue -- his looks and mannerisms on screen, however, are not James Bond. Again, even Craig looks better in comparison, and Craig was far removed from the traditional James Bond (they even did a composite photo of the six actors who portrayed Bond and proved this point... you won't see any trace of Daniel Craig in the composite version):
The “new” JB is a fag. England is no longer.
Heh. Maybe the screenwriter for Diamonds Are Forever was accidentally using Live and Let Die as the source material.
Chris Blackwell / Steve Winwood / Island Records (by memory)
I’m dyin’ over here... :^)
A wee bit O Bond humor : )
Couldn’t do the Kidd & Wint characters today, you’d hear screams from the Gaystapo about them being villains (because we all know how gays are so well-grounded mentally and would never be villains, only victims).
1—Really, do. Not only will you see how fine an actor he is, you will watch some superb films like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011).
2—I agree. Connery and Dalton were superb.
3—What Craig has done has brought the character back to the roots of Fleming. No, he dosent resemble Fleming’s Bond physically, but does mentally. Craig’s Bond is Bond stripped bare. The killing machine. And I said his the best since Connery, at the very least equal to Dalton. I’d put him just ahead.
Can you read?.
The new novel has him with a live in gf, its his friend who is gay, not him. Why the problem, hell most 50’s/60’s British spies turned out to be gay, lol.
His name is Bag,. Douche Bag.
“...Daniel Craig, the actor who plays him. Mr. Craig recently made a $47,300 donation to a super PAC that supports Mr. Sanders, according to the Center for Public Integrity.”
Ping to 97.
” Mr. Craig recently made a $47,300 donation to a super PAC that supports Mr. Sanders, according to the Center for Public Integrity.”
Gee.....I am shawked........simply shawked!!
LMAO, it’s sounds like Craig got SCAMMED, the pac doesn’t really have any affiliation with Sanders, who is against super pacs.
