Talk radio host Hugh Hewitt has said in the wake of last week's controversial foreign policy interview with Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump that "I deplore 'gotcha questions,'" yet he's repeatedly defended asking them in the past and even says on his website that there's no such thing as a "gotcha question."

Trump is actually very sharp, himself also a TV personality smelled right away they're irrelevant question, what's the point of even asking, hello...
Yes! All they need to know is the name of the new sheriff.
Yours is easily the best theory on this thread.
If I were Trump, or anyone else, and received a “gotcha” question, I would leave the debate. I would warn them ahead of time of the plan, but I would follow through.
I would then proceed to take every question from the debate and respond to it, then pay to air it.

Question to Hillary:
What’s your favorite color?
Sorry about the source but the DC Rhino media only cheers when their chief threat to power is ambushed .
George Will is still showing the marks Laura applied after she touched him up on immigration on Fox News.
No, only mendacious radio hosts.
Huge will continue to be a GOPee hitman.
And: Who does your hair? It always looks perfect, yet so loose and vibrant!
If I was Trump I’d answer: no, I don’t know the guy, but my thug bankers know his thug bankers and there may not be anything left of this guy by the time the primaries roll around. Next?
I was thinking the same thing. Give Carley the “gotcha Questions” to knock Trump down a notch.
I think that is poor general advice. Having all sorts of facts in mind make daily work in the field more efficient and increases the probabality of innovation through integration.
Is Hillsdale bad?
And who's on first?
Newt Gingrich in Sunday’s “Face the Nation” really nailed down the “Gotcha Question” controversy:
“The truth is, no national leader knows anything about the head of Quds force; so they say they may have memorized the name; they dont know what school he went to, they dont know what faction he belongs to; they dont know whether or not he was in Moscow recently. I mean, this is not presidential stuff. Hes going to hire a Secretary of State, hes going to hire a national security adviser; hes going to have a chairman of the Joint Chiefs; hes going to have a Secretary of Defense. The real question is: so what would you do about them.”
“First of all, we have no idea what the effect of Trump will be over six months or a year and how dramatically the messages will change. Hes now met with the head of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce; hes about to meet with their board I think hes modulating; I think he is learning. The one thing Ive always found to be true with Trump is: I think he learns faster than any other political figure Ive known except Bill Clinton. And I think its a big mistake to assume that the Donald Trump who you saw yesterday is the Donald Trump youre going to see a month from now.”
UGH!
Looks like an old yellow toothed hoss!
you’re absolutely FOS.
