TRUMP: US SHOULD ‘HELP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE,’ WITH REFUGEE CRISIS, ‘POSSIBLY’ LET SOME IN
Breitbart ^ | 5 SEPT 2015 | IAN HANCHETT

Posted on 09/07/2015 12:37:22 PM PDT by South40

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated that while “There’s only so much we can do. We have to fix our own country” the US should “help as much as possible” with the European refugee crisis and “possibly” let some refugees into the US on Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

Trump was asked about the European refugee crisis and, “Should we be letting some of those people into this country?”

He answered, “So horrible on a humanitarian basis when you see that. It’s like incredible what’s going on. But, you know, we have so many problems. And the answer is possibly yes, Cokie, possibly yes.

While were contemplating this, has Cruz, Rubio, Paul, and others tried to block the Syrians we’re bringing in?

I see as of last year, Obama has approved at least up to 70,000 worldwide for resettlement and 33,000 could come from Syria. These numbers may have gone up.

The criticism here should be aimed at Obama.

I’ll repeat, Trump has no core principles short of self promotion and making the deal. He does whatever feels right for the moment that furthers hes goals. He’s all over the map for anyone willing to look. All these little bumps on the road are going to be craters when and if he takes office.

It’s alright to be compassionate....but require OTHERS to help instead of doing it yourself?

Some Freepers here sound like liberals...

“Nice try, but that is 100% inconsistent with his saying he would mass deport all ILLEGAL aliens.

I have read many times in this forum that Trump says what needs to be said regardless what others may think. When did that change?”

************************************************************************************

It never changed. He nor I believe it heartless to punish those who break the law. Neither to a HUGE majority if Americans if polling is to be believed.

Trump is saying EXACTLY what needs to be said. This man is beyond brilliant and the way he bitch slaps the media is heartwarming to watch.

“Trump was tough at first, now he is softening.

Again:

“But, you know, we have so many problems. And the answer is possibly yes, Cokie, possibly yes.”

Note the qualifier. Do you really think he could get away with, “Hell no!! Screw them!!!”

I also heard that some Muslims are pretending to be Christians just to get into other countries. True - how do we really know who is and isn’t a Christian?

Well when the opposition to the guy consist of looking for any little damn thing, many times without any context, and then rushing onto FR with 50 other people on 24 hour “get Trump” stand-by to scream and wail for 200 posts, and belittle his supports as willing to “support anything”, as if support for any candidate is so cheap and shallow that one statement can collapse it, then you should not be shocked that they GASP aren’t rushing to embrace the candidate you support more!

Besides if Trump wins, he wont be president until January of 2017! In the greater scheme of things, it doesn’t matter what he says on this as the situation will not even be the same that far into the future.

You clowns are the ones that keep growing his support because you come off as desperate, calculating, and frankly reeking of trying to damn hard. Not to mention you are doing the same thing from the right that the press is trying to do from the left.

possibly...

Therein lies my problem with candidate Trump. When pressed, he equivocates on everything.

While his initial statements appear unqualifiedly conservative, his eventual positions seem to be equivocal and not thought out.

While I agree with what he's saying, I question whether he really believes it and will actually act accordingly.

possibly...

It's a great big yellow flag...

He has already spoken out about how Christians are not being allowed to immigrate - while Muslims are prioritized

I expect things would be different in his administration

I've ceased to be amazed just saddened at what Trump supporters will defend.

"Possibly" was the wrong answer, especially coming from a liberal candidate so many here are willing to accept.

An emphatic "NO" would have been the correct response. But we'll never get that from a lifelong liberal like Donald Trump.

Put on your big boy pants.

My first candidate, Senator Cruz, said much the same.

I'll defend Mr. Trump whenever I see fit. Thankyouverymuch.

Sadly, you and a handful of others are making it a practice to slam Mr. Trump on almost every thread, and almost always for outright lies (which are usually Y'ALL's OPINIONS), half-truths or positions of CIVILIAN TRUMP from long ago.

Me? I am most willing to support Mr. Donald Trump on IMMIGRATION alone, (which I deem #1) because our Republic cannot continue if this ILLEGAL INVASION is NOT STOPPED and CORRECTED.

As for "this issue": Take Trump's entire statement into consideration! NOT some 'fiery headline.'

See: Chaldean Christians

Currently, there are about 2.5 million Christians in all of Syria.
Most are Eastern Orthodox followed by Eastern Catholics, which includes the Assyrian Church of the East and the Chaldean Catholic Church.

There are an estimated 500,000 members of the Chaldean Catholic Church in the Middle East, which is in complete unity with the Holy See in Rome under the leadership of Pope Francis. The Chaldean Catholic Church traces its origins back to Thomas the Apostle and its liturgical languages are Syriac and Aramaic, the latter the language that Jesus Christ Himself primarily spoke.

I know you didn't, I was just making a point.  I know, and I don't actually mind.  This is a policy I disagree with.  He seems like a fairly reasonable guy.  I think someone could talk some sense into him on this.  Maybe not.

I will admit that Christians there are a tough topic, but I would urge U. S. support for Christian friendly nations vs bringing them to the U. S.

So how do we know who is a "Christian" and who can be trusted?  Exactly.  That's why I favor policies that help them in place or regionally.  Don't take that chance.

I live in San Diego. There has been reports of muslim prayer rugs being found near the border. Apprently, muslims are entering the US posing as Mexicans.  I'm not sure they have to pose.  Who's stopping them.  Basically nobody.

If they can pose as Mexicans the can pose as Christians. So how do we know?   Once again, I agree.  That's the real kicker right there.

We need to be thinking in terms of moving Islamic adherents OUT of the U. S., not in.  I am in favor of tossing money at them to accomplish the task.  This is a national security issue.

We stand to lose trillions if we're don't get this back under control.

The correct answer: We may consider allowing some Syrian Christians who are fleeing persecution into the US. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Emerites and other wealthy Muslim countries can take care of the Muslim immigrants, as required by the Quran.

This statement doesn’t matter, Trump is the only one who can win. So we should give up trying to elect a real conservative because he talks tough and will garner a large portion of the democrat vote.</s>

...the Syrian conflict for which the U.S. policies are greatly responsible.

Because we didn't put boots on the ground like McCain and Graham wanted?

Yes, it's all our fault that muslims are murdering psychopaths. /s

Yes, because the current POTUS is a moron who gives lip service to the policy and to every jihadists moron he can find. But the policy espoused by Bush after 9/11 is the correct one. Find them, kill them and if the state harbors them kill the state as well. But we don’t own what we break. That is Colin Powell bs.
