As a patriotic and proud citizen of the United States, I have a story to share that has not only impacted my family, hundreds of colleagues, but also current and future United States workers.
I used to have a dream career at one of Americas most iconic and admired companies. Twenty years of hard work, technical skill building, the fostering of relationships and a bachelors degree in Information Technology guided me to a coveted position as an Information Technology Engineer for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
On a sunny Monday morning in late October of 2014 I drove down the interstate toward the huge 40 square mile Disney Orlando, Florida property to my office. Ten days earlier Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, had just announced that the companys earnings were up well over 20 percent for the quarter and this was just one among a long series of record breaking financial results for the company. About six months earlier, a new CIO, Tilak Mandadi, was appointed for the Parks and Resorts Division of Disney, which would result in huge changes to our lives. Little did I know what was about to happen that very same day to me and hundreds of other fellow Disney Information Technology Cast Members.

Will they still be having "Gay Days" at Disney World?
“After a decade of failing to deploy even basic technology”
Failing to deploy basic technology? Please elaborate with links that back up what you are saying?
Oh, that’s just great . . . now we don’t have to worry about jobs at all, just the companies . . . .
You cannot answer it can you??? LOL!
I see you think we are better off now with close to 100 million unemployed receiving welfare.
Again was the United States a stronger country with tariffs from 1945 to 1996 than without tariffs from 1997 to 2015?
In my (limited) experience in dealing with tech older non-tech managers resented the inability to deal with IT staff because they were irreplaceable years ago; now they have replaced them with foreigners, and you have incompetents for whom you simply pay less money. It wasn’t worth it; a lot of the jobs that would be lost due to automation are actually being spared because of the inability of tech coolies to set it up.
The welfare state is expanding, regardless of how much you want to raise them.
Poor Walt! The Happiest Place on Earth? Bull Sheite! He would die hearing this if he weren’t dead already.
Old story. Happened last year.
Due to pressure, Disney has cancelled layoffs.
Good job exposing this farce of an “economic model”. They think we are blind.
“Most of the Disney cast members are pedophiles, so I’m having trouble getting worked up over this.”
These weren’t cast members. They were IT guys. This happened last year. Since, due to pressure, Disney has cancelled the layoffs.
Are you sure?

LOL! That’s what I thought.
You cannot answer it because deep down inside you KNOW I am right.
Remember how, way back when, when manufacturing jobs were being exported overseas, we heard, “you just need to be educated in “high tech skills.”
Now they’re importing workers to fill the “high tech skills” jobs with lower paid foreign labor... And at the same time, importing no-skilled labor to fill the “would you like fries with that, senor” jobs.
I wonder who will be left to pay the taxes? Even at $15/hr for fast food workers, tax revenues will be crashing.
Maybe the government can be financed by selling worthless treasury bills, paying 0.1% interest.

Read the article ...
“On a sunny Monday morning in late October of 2014 ...”
All I THINK is that you want to raise my taxes. Because I am better-off than I was in 1996.
Yes I do!
You nailed it!
Outstanding point Mark!
Sell your Disney stock. They’ll get the message.
I’m not sure.
That means there was 90 days from that date, November, December, January.
That’s not really that long ago. Are you sure they were rehired?
“The date on this article is September 7th, 2015, and is on top of Breitbart right now.”
Just goes to show that BB is mostly about clickbait ...
