The TV anchor boyfriend of the late broadcast journalist Alison Parker, who was slain Aug. 26 on live TV alongside her cameraman, has vowed to honor her memory by covering issues of gun violence and mental illness.
Anything, he says, to spare another family.
"I pledged to her father," Chris Hurst, the 28-year-old evening anchor at WDBJ, tells PEOPLE. "Her father wants me to help him do whatever it takes to make sure not one more family has to go through this kind of unspeakable violence."

So now this chump is going to go after mentally ill black racist homosexuals with hate and murder in their hearts who will kill innocent, unsuspecting, and defenseless people for imagined wrongs?
Doesn't he know how dangerous that can be?
I’d rather he do whatever it takes to protect us from crazy black homos.
Not to sound cruel, but I guess we’re lucky she wasn’t run over by a car or killed by a frying pan.
What do you bet this guy and the girl’s father are both operating outside of the law in this new endeavor?
Anybody surprised that the family of a MSM “reporter” instantly goes into their leftist pre-programmed “mode” after their personal tragedy?
Probably a roid head also.

Yep. Maybe the boyfriend will take up that cause too.
...and promoting the ownership of guns by law abiding citizens.
He will also obviously promote the eradication of “Gun Free Zones”.
Good work, kid. Maybe you learned something from the tragedy.
Oh, will he promote the banning of the rainbow flag that the murderer proudly owned? You know, like the Roof kid?
When we are mourning, torn apart by grief, especially in senseless deaths, we often say things we don’t mean or recollect.
As long as we are a nation that will not accept that a certain demographic is more predisposed to violence and we continue to scrape and bow to revolutionary communist movements who maintain that this certain demographic cannot be held responsible, then we will continue to see extraordinary violence in the streets.
We will also continue to see liberals who have neither the mental capacity nor the intestinal fortitude to confront the culprits but instead seek “workarounds” in continued failed attempts to control violence through sweeping gun legislation.
Gun legislation that hurts law abiding gun owners.
Ending the drug war will help alot as well.
Would he eat a bug?
I bet you Cal Worthington would!
to make sure not one more family —
Not ONE more???
Way, way too late.
Close the damn border!
Deport Illegal Immigrant Criminals.
Jail Citizen Criminals.
Establish Mental hospitals that truly care for the mentally ill, rather than just warehouse them.
>>killed by a frying pan.
Williams Sonoma store was right nearby. Anyone can go in there and buy a cast-iron frying pan.
You’re so snarky ;)
My sympathy for you will vanish real fast if you jump on this anti-2A bandwagon.
Does the left use these weak-minded people or are they closet communists?
Trust me. He already jumped. Long ago.
Zero sympathy from me. Anyone trying to take away my rights has now declared themselves my enemy.
A lot of people were really turned off by this guy’s apparent self-promotion and definite high self-regard while being interviewed by news outlets shortly after the shooting.
How about we start by locking up violence-prone, mentally ill gay Black Obama supporters?
I guess he would feel better if the Perp Butchered her with a Knife or threw a Molotov Cocktail at her and she burned to death.
Human Ingenuity knows no bounds, especially when guided by Envy and Hatred.

He’s a victim, don’t ya know?
One third of the shooting victims were homosexual.
One third of the shooting victims were ‘of color’.
Of course both of those terms also describe the shooter before he turned his gun on himself.
