Commemorates Labor Day
HOUSTON, Texas — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, released the following statement commemorating Labor Day:
“Today we celebrate American workers. Since the first days of the frontier, the virtue of work has enlivened our national spirit. It is the ingenuity and grit of countless Americans that has made this a land of opportunity. To the teacher, law enforcement officer, civil servant, factory worker, and countless others, I say thank you. Thank you for working daily to provide for your family, to contribute to our economy, and to keep America strong.
“We should foster a robust economy, and stop stifling growth and opportunity. Under the Obama economy, we have seen the lowest labor force participation since the late 1970s. Families, small businesses, minorities, and young people are being crushed by rising premiums and fewer good-paying jobs due to Obamacare, vast costs from new agency regulations, and a byzantine tax code. Manufacturing has steadily declined during Obama’s presidency, and the industriousness that has empowered workers and pioneered innovation is fading under his watch.
“But with strong Presidential leadership, we can turn things around quickly: we can eliminate onerous regulations, repeal Obamacare, simplify the tax code, and welcome job creation in every sector – from energy to manufacturing to agriculture. We can champion hardworking Americans. If we stand together for working men and women, we will reignite the promise of America.”

I agree with Ted Cruz on these points, but I think they are being used by a (huge) swath of people who do not have America’s interested in mind, to export American jobs.
We need to bring back American jobs.
We have exported far to many already. Bring them back.
Cruz at 5& and 7th place in New Hampshire and Iowa. Not looking good.

Rick Santorum was in single digits when he won Iowa and went on to be a final playoff contender.
It’s still 2015. This could all change by next year.
We’re still some 5 months away from the first votes.
There are still many debates, and the Iran deal protest. Ted’s numbers are low right now because the media is purposely ignoring him. But Ted has a $50+ million war chest, so he’ll be able to stay in the race as others drop out. Eventually the media will be FORCED to cover him, and his numbers should improve greatly.

Cut the H1-B Program by 80% instead of increasing it by 500%.
What I posted below is for others to be able to see Ted Cruz's point and circumstance when he proposed this idea. O.K.? We as a country will have time to discussion this topic in detail when Ted Cruz is the President. One thing we know is that the majority of our public education is for indoctrination, not for teaching real skills to be productive.
Also in the video, Ted Cruz talked about his father coming here with a student visa. After graduating, he started up a company and created jobs in this country.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today presented an amendment to the Gang of Eight immigration bill that would improve our nation’s legal immigration system by increasing high-skilled temporary worker visas, called H-1B visas, by 500 percent. The measure would effectively address the needs of our nation’s high-skilled workforce by helping meet the growing demand for workers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. It will also make block grants available to states to promote STEM education efforts and increase domestic STEM professionals. The committee voted against the amendment 4 to 14 with every Democrat voting against it on a party-line vote.
“I strongly support legal immigration. Legal immigration is a fundamental pillar of our nation's heritage, and I was pleased today to offer legislation that would have improved and expanded legal immigration by dramatically increasing the cap for high-tech temporary worker visas. This amendment would not only improve the current system, but would also encourage economic growth and create new jobs in America. There is currently a serious shortage of workers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, yet every year we send thousands of high-tech graduate students back to their home countries to start businesses and create jobs. This makes no sense. I’m disappointed in the committee’s vote to reject expanding high-tech immigration. Although the Gang of Eight's bill makes a modest step towards improving high-tech immigration, it does not go nearly far enough. There is no reason to arbitrarily cap high-tech visas at 110,000 when these jobs are going unfilled. We need economic growth here and now.”
Sen. Cruz’s amendment would:
Immediately increase the H-1B cap by 500 percent from 65,000 to 325,000.
Help retain the high-skilled workers that are trained in the U.S. by allowing “dual intent.”
Create block grants for states to promote STEM education in their public schools by raising H-1B fees.

Yes, I know that. It was an impressive victory from behind. But it was a two man race, in a State he had won statewide office in twice. The dynamics here are different.
He does have a lot of money, maybe he can outlay some others.
It is an odd race, to be sure. all of the junior Senators had a moment of glory and have faded badly. Maybe someone resurects themselves. I don’t think it will be Rand. I think Rubio is doing better for the VP spot, along with Carly.
No, it was not a two-man race. There were 9 candidates in the race: David Dewhurst, Ted Cruz, Tom Leppert, Craig James, Glenn Addison, Lela Pittenger, Ben Gambini, Curt Cleaver and Joe Agris.
And, this senate race was the first time Ted Cruz ran for a public office.
As it should be. The problem is they don't return. They stick around and take jobs from Americans or they fly planes into buildings.
Bull Carp. There are more than 230,000 fully qualified Americans who need those jobs that are being taken by foreigners.
My son's company just laid off over 600 fully qualified engineers. They will be moving the jobs somewhere else and then filling them with foreigners who are willing to work for half what these people were making.
If Cruz doesn't reconsider this position I will not be donating to him. At this point I have no candidate.
