Will said, Theres no question that the presidents selective interpretation of the Constitutional provision that the executive shall see that the laws are faithfully execute his selective approach to that perhaps has encouraged a kind of lawlessness. People saying well, I can do whatever I wish. But surely it is a wholesome rule that executives should obey legitimate court orders. Thats true whether your name is Orval Faubus, the Democratic governor of Arkansas in the 1950s or George Wallace, the democratic governor of Alabama in the 60s. Kim Davis, the Democratic county clerk in Kentucky.

George, you’re nothing to me now. You’re not a brother, you’re not a friend. I don’t want to know you or what you do.
Trump and the supporters who pushed him into the lead have shattered their world and rendered them irrelevant.
It's quite a comeuppance when the man in the street gets it and the elites are befuddled...but that is what has happened.
Obama turned the world upside down...and Trump has turned it right-side up again.
For a guy who backed Obama last go around to be GOPe is funny. Benedict Arnold maybe.
Conscious of a Conservative doesn’t apply to “Boy George”. for if your a so called Republican and you endorsed Obama for President you have no Conscious.
A better comparison is Rosa Parks.
Or Martin Luther King — maybe she should write a letter from the Birmingham Jail.
George Will ought to get his head examined....and soon. He irrationality gets worse every day.
Either Will has always been a major lib (I suspect that’s true) or voila! One of his son’s showed up at Thankgiving wearing a dress and demanding to be accepted as a woman. Fake conservatives always fall for the sick relative excuse.
The conservative George Will calls himself an “amiable atheist.” Amiable or not, a conservative atheist usually means social liberal. See Krauthammer, Charles.
Such “conservatives” may find abortion abhorrent but their opposition is sluggish and purely intellectual. Atheists sleep late on Sunday mornings. They do not attend church with pro-life activists. They do not demonstrate outside clinics in freezing cold weather.
Will, the atheist, proved all this in his recent column about assisted suicide. He poo-poohed concerns about suicide as a slippery slope. He said every issue has its own slippery slope. That’s true for rudderless atheists, but not for Christians who consider human life sacred. That’s where the slippery slope stops. It stops at human life, God’s greatest creation.
George Will, of course, does not believe that. Because atheists, truth be told, believe in nothing.
“George Will sounds increasing like David Brooks.”
Journalism has changed. No longer do newspapers present a forum for the serious exchange of ideas. Newspapers, television stations, and other communications outlets are owned by big media companies. These media companies are heavily regulated by the federal, and sometimes state, government. In order to survive, grow, and prosper they must cater to the whims of the political class.
Today the left is in ascendency, controlling the levers of government through the executive branch and the regulatory process. In order to curry favor with an administration increasingly aggressive in using the power of the state to punish its perceived and real enemies, the media companies are active collaborators in spreading the progressive propaganda issued by the regime. The White House determines the message and conveys it to the statist media companies who then spout the administration line.
Will, Brooks, Krauthammer, and other self proclaimed “conservatives” are not serious thinkers or commentators. They are nothing more than window dressing, used by the media companies to make the disingenuous claim they are objective disseminators of real news when in fact they are the propaganda organs of the state. The self proclaimed conservative pundits have sold their services, and objectivity, for large salaries, huge speaking fees, and invitations to the private parties of the wealthy elites controlling business and government. Their written and on air drivel, even when it appears to offer token opposition, in effect serves the end of the state.
Note there is no passion in their words or delivery. They work to destroy opposition to the state by softening it, directing it to unproductive activity while allowing real tyranny to gain power, or deliberately dismissing it as crude and uncivilized.
Like Judas Iscariot, the elite conservative spokespeople long ago sold out for 30 pieces of silver. Watching them play on the media stage is like watching cold empty souls who have no humanity, love, creativity, passion, or meaning. Today George Will will scratch out another empty column, or pontificate on Fox News, before going to an obscenely expensive dinner in New York or Washington with his enlightened progressive friends. At conversation over dinner they will laugh at the pleas of the masses and congratulate themselves for being the enlightened beings with all of the answers.
At work Mr. Will’s hands will not get dirty, his muscles will not ache at the end of the day, nor he will wake up in the night worried his employer will export his job or replace him with an illegal immigrant. He does not worry about criminals or the police breaking down his door at 3:00 am, how his children can be educated in the miserable public schools, or if he will be able to save enough money after taxes in the rigged stock market or 1% CD’s to keep from living in abject poverty once he retires. To George Will, the real lives of those who clamor for a return to historical American values and culture are abstractions. As abstractions, they are not real to him and hence easily ignored or trivialized. Reality is serving his master so he can continue to pad his bank account and enjoy rubbing shoulders with the rich and powerful.
George Will and David Brooks, like John Boehner and Mitch McConnell, are not 21st century patriots and champions of liberty. These “conservative” mainstream media commentators are house servants on the progressive plantation who look down on the unwashed slaves in the field formerly known as the American middle class. Their worst fear is a modern day Sherman burning the plantation house and setting free the slaves.
I call him Ol’ Turnstile. He just loves to see those Latino kids coming across the border and insists that the US’ 3,400 counties can absorb them all.
She should have simply asked for the statute that requires marriage licenses to be issued to same-sex couples in Tennessee. There isn't one. How can she be asked to uphold a law which does not exist?
The Supreme Court can only uphold or invalidate laws. It can't write them. That's the job of legislatures, or at least it use to be in quainter times.
George Will is FOS. Don’t listen to his drivel.
So you are OK with an anti-religious test for the office of county clerk. (Not a question - a summation of your post)
Will would only be correct if he referred to both as Democrats.
When Presidents and Chief Justices either don't follow the laws or make up the laws as they go along, you no longer have the "Rule of Law." You have chaos.
Such is the legacy of Obama...and Will.
What is so desperately needed is for some governor to say out loud, "Not in my state. Not while I'm Governor."
That must eventually lead to civil war, but that seems to be what Obama, McConnell, Boehner, Roberts AND Will want, anyway.
Will might argue that when these people in DC declare war on American citizens, Kim Davis isn't even a microcosm of the problem. The problem is the civil war has already begun.
Is George Will really as stupid as he appears to be?
George Will - a shill for the establishment in a bad toupee. Ignore at will.
Stopped listening to that jerk years ago. Who cares what he says?
Each day Will, the out of date beltway mediot pundiot shows his liberal reality.
Excellent summary of these three worthless Beltway mediots/pundiots. Two terms of a Trump presidency will make them a minor footnote in left wing history.
“Will, Kraut, Kristol et al are actually scared for their prestige and livelihoods. Once they were thought of as conservatives. Yet they were actually the loyal, but not too vocal, opposition who never really showed the indignation a real conservative would have.
They spoke in conservative platitudes and they played the part but only offering up pitiful plaints against the onslaught of debauchery, lawlessness and evil that is Democrat.”
But Will thinks it’s OK to ignore the rule of law when it comes to illegal aliens.
