The cross tabs to this poll are fascinating and reveal an opening for any Republican candidate in 2016.
Although the poll surveyed 1000 Americans, fully 900 of them were registered voters. Some highlights:
* Clinton wins among women 44-35. Trump wins men 50-35.
* The only age group Clinton wins is the 18-34 bracket, 50-31. Trump wins the 35-49 group by 47-35; 50-64 by 50-35; and 65+ by 55-37. Guess which age groups vote the most in elections? The 50-65+ brackets.
* Trump wins the white vote by 51-34 and gets an encouraging 25% of the black vote. Hillary wins the Hispanic vote 50-31.
* Among those paying “a lot” of attention to politics, Trump is beating Clinton 54-36. Clinton wins among LIVs by 43-34.
It’s hard to tell if these are anti-Hillary numbers or pro-Trump numbers. The usual Democratic constituencies are supporting Clinton; ditto Republicans. Trump is winning moderates and independents by small margins. Clinton’s “war on women” charge isn’t resonating. And her favorables are in free fall.
The important takeaway: Trump, despite claims from establishment Republicans, isn’t chasing anyone away and his style may be attracting older, established voters that are vital to Republicans for victory in 2016.

The thing about Trump is that he’s pretty much matured in front of the public here in New York. There has already been the Marla Maples (wife No. 2) sex scandal that was a part of the tabloids back in the day. There’s not a lot of skeletons in his closet.
While like most on here, I favor Ted Cruz, I am impressed with how savvy the Trump campaign has been thus far. He is alpha enough to tell the left wing presstitutes to go to hell and getting stronger because of it. And the base just eats it up as we’re sick and tired of the slanted left-wing media.

I’m really worried about the chaos going on in the DemocRAT Party. They need to dump Hillary and all their extreme leftwingers right now or they’ll never win another election. Hillary is a real drag on a party that has turned into a complete basket case.

Their brilliant plan - bend over and kiss Illegal Alien ass and hope for the best, which would have been predictably a failure anyway.
Trump comes along and does every single thing the opposite to what the (R)inos have done and blows them out of the water. Let there be no doubt - everyone remotely connected to the RNC and GOPe must be crushed.
Should Trump win we need to get Sarah Palin inserted as RNC Chairman so that every damn (R)ino in the Senate and House gets primaried. We need a clean sweep.

Trump;s numbers will continue to rise as he gets prodded along by the leftist media. As soon as he wins the nomination they will turn on him and the GOP in spades and his numbers will plummet. John McCain was the media darling as long as he was a “maverick” GOP candidate. Once he was the GOP nominee he was portrayed as an out of touch fossil.
