Hugh Hewitt: Rubio, Cruz, Jeb Could Do All-Spanish Debate — Hillary ‘Can’t Order At Taco Bell’
Daily Caller ^ | 6/18/15 | Al Weaver

Posted on 09/04/2015 10:19:50 AM PDT by jimbo123

Radio host Hugh Hewitt talked up the potential for the GOP 2016 field among Latino-Americans Thursday, saying multiple candidates could tap the voting bloc by participating in an all-Spanish debate.

Hewitt, who is currently out promoting his book “The Queen,” told Larry King that while the likes of Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz could do their own debate in Spanish, Hillary Clinton “can’t order at Taco Bell.” The conservative radio host made the comment when discussing the perfect ticket for the GOP in 2016.

“The perfect ticket will be able to appeal to not just white males over the age of 40. They’ll be able to talk to Latino-Americans. They’ll be able to talk to African-Americans. They’ll be able to talk to young single women. We haven’t done a very good job at that,” Hewitt said. “Mitt Romney got smashed in the Latino demographic in 2012. I think he said just this last week…if he had anything to do over again, he’d go to the African-American community and the Latino community earlier. I think our perfect ticket will do just that.”

And .. the Hispanic children are not encouraged to learn English.

In CA we had a whole generation who could not conduct a simple conversation in English. They became unable to find a job; unable to hold a job; went on welfare.

This was the result of the LEFT’s “bi-lingual education” CRAP. When that got stopped .. we had more Hispanics who could speak English very well. Sadly, the LEFT thinks we’re hurting people by forcing them to learn English.

The left are idiots.

I took Spanish because I wanted to in sixth grade.

I took four years of Latin in high school because I wanted to.

I don’t remember more than a few words of each.

Being able to fluently speak Spanish is no sort of test at all for an American president.

Del Taco and Taco Bell don’t have Spanish menus

I believe Cruz is fluent in Spanish, so what, this is America. My sister was fluent in 5 languages, so what, this is the USA, English should be recognized as official language.

Don’t encourage a situation like Canada where they sing the national anthem in 2 languages.

The GOPe sure does.

They see the "hispanic" voting block, if there is such a thing, much the same way as corporate America looked at China 25 years ago - the answer to all their prayers, if they could just figure out how to crack it.

I took 4 years of Latin and French in High school.

A friend of mine took 6 years of Latin...but said it was really hard to find someone who spoke conversational Latin.

I guess that’s not as important to Mr. Establishment Hugh Hewitt.. HH has lived in California too long it’s affected his Harvard brain

Hugh Hewitt is a GOPe pimp. He pushed Romney for years. His candidate lost big. Why would anybody listen to his advice?

she needs to call an assistant to tell them to call another assistant to tell them to do it for her.

by which time it is cold and even more unpalatable than when it emerged from the oven...but she would eat it if the cameras were there to record it, and cackle about how deleicious it is...

Well why don’t we just cut to the chase and elect a Mexican citizen to run North Mexico???

This has become completely absurd. Liberal white guilt gone overboard.

Actually, being fluent in Spanish is VERY useful in the Western Hemisphere because most countries south of the US-Mexico border do speak some form of the language. As such, being fluent in the language means you can easily travel throughout Mexico, Central America and South America outside of Brazil. (Interestingly, many Brazilians do try to learn Spanish because it is very necessary given most the countries that border Brazil speak this language.)

If they are in America, why should anybody need to know Spanish to order at Taco Bell?

I imagine Jeb’s spanish at Taco Bell goes a little something like this:

“Me liko uno softo taco with groundo meato.
E un grande popo orgango and some nacho chipos.”
