Rowan Co. Clerk Kim Davis will stay in custody

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis, a Democrat, will stay in custody.

It was a circus in Ashland today, as media, and protesters on both sides of the Kim Davis controversy came nose-to-nose outside the courthouse.

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis appeared before U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning at 11:00 this morning, Bunning had her taken into custody finding her in contempt for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. Bunning told Davis that she would remain in jail until she complied with his order.

Davis said “thank you” and was taken from the courtroom by a U.S. Marshal. Davis was not taken out in handcuffs.

Judge Bunning then called Mrs. Davis’ six deputies into the courtroom, they were told they were free to issue licenses to all applicants while Davis was held in contempt, but if they did not comply they too would face fines or jail time.

Five of the six clerks said they would issue the licenses, the only one to hold out was Mrs. Davis’ son Nathan.

Judge Bunning was not done with Davis though, calling her back into court at 3:30 this afternoon, but Davis did not come. Instead she stayed in custody, her attorney appearing before the judge to tell him that she would not allow any employee to issue licenses in her absence.

Judge Bunning says he will keep Davis in jail for at least a week, and said “I hope that everyone will remain civil. This country has always had disagreements, but what makes this country different from other countries is that we respect the rule of law.”

That's laughable. Which law has Davis in jail? There is none. Lawlessness by the Judicial and Executive branches at the federal level has destroyed the respect for the rule of law in this country.

It is dangerous to be right when the government is wrong.

Heavy. Hadn’t heard that one before.

Gays choose their path, blacks, as are whites, were born the color they are.

She is obeying the Law, the only Law that matters, and that is God’s law and natures law.

Should the abolitionists have abandoned the public square after the Supreme Court called abortion legal? How about when slavery was deemed A OK?

When nations pass unGodly laws, it is our duty to stand up and refuse to follow them. She was elected by the people and only the people can remove her.

You are a vile person and deserve whatever God sends your way.

Well not intentionally. Habit considering the way this world has been going.

Nothing is impossible with the Lord!

People said she would break today. God has converted her and given her greater strength in her new walk with Him than many life long “christians.”

Someone posted she teaches Bible school at her local prison, so word has surely gotten out wherever they Gulag-ed her that she is to be Protected.

He, the sovereign One, is the only One who is in a position to know (if not, as in a Calvinist system, to force) who’s going to yield. “How do you know that you were not called for this very purpose?”

I think most if not all of them are privately aghast at this and are wishing her well in her quest.

Marriage is a Religious construct
Marriage IS NOT a Government construct

How is this different from Barry Soetoro not following the Law and granting amnesty via a memo from Jeh Johnston

If I was closer than 1300 miles from that place I would hang him in effigy. I would not go so far as to burn him though.

I don’t...but I’ll go to a hang-man’s gallows before I admit this “marriage law” has The Lord’s Blessing.

That’s the point. The Left ignores the “Law.” Obama, Holder, all those sanctuary city mayors, the lefty county clerks who passed out licenses when it was blatantly illegal.

The “Law” has come to exist only as a weapon of the Left. Such a “Law” has lost all moral authority, and I no longer have any obligation to recognize it. It’s a dead letter. Any conservative or any Christian still fighting on such a weighted playing-field is a fool. Nullification, resistence are the only options left.

And just beyond that, any country so sick and depraved as to equate two perverted homos as the same as a married couple is a country that is no longer even worth preserving.

So how much is it going to take and how close does it have to get to each one of us before we refuse to go along with this? Your child is going to have this abomination taught to them now. Your wife, your daughter and yourself are no longer safe in a public restroom anywhere. Your impressionable youths are going to be encouraged to experiment with this vileness in the name of mental health
The preaching and teaching of The Word of the Almighty is now considered hate speech against a minority. Many companies are including questions about attitudes toward LGBT. You will now be required to share showers and bathroom facilities in public places with any and all perverts who want to be there. It is now the law of this land and anyone who participates is a partaker.

So when do we say “enough”?
The majority of Kentuckians voted against this
