Kim Davis could become the first Christian in America jailed as a result of the Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage.
“I’ve weighed the cost and I’m prepared to go to jail, I sure am,” Mrs. Davis told me in an exclusive interview. “This has never been a gay or lesbian issue for me. This is about upholding the word of God.”
“This is a heaven or hell issue for me and for every other Christian that believes,” she said. “This is a fight worth fighting.”
Davis is the clerk of Rowan County, Ky. – a small patch of earth in the northeastern part of the state. She was elected last November – taking the place of her mother, who held the position for nearly 40 years.
It’s fair to say that issuing marriage licenses was something of a family business – until the day the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage.
Davis is a devout Apostolic Christian, and she knew that should gay marriage become legal, she could not and would not sign her name on a same-sex marriage certificate.

I encountered a particularly stinky situation of a new boss who said (to me on company time) that ohhhh he’s a Baptist.

I don’t. If someone wants to imprison you for your normal American beliefs, THAT is the bright line. If they decide to arrest you they should pay a bitter price and remember that day with heartbreak, not pride.

Hi, I haven’t posted here in about 5 or 6 years but did want to let you know where to ultimately look to help her once this comes to a conclusion.
Since go fund me dot com became anti-Christian after the Indiana Pizza place received all that money, the Christian bakers who were put out of business in Washington had to go to continuetogive.com. Actually people are still giving to them daily. Continuetogive.com does support Christians.
So I would watch that site.

And that old render unto Caesar verse is always horribly misconstrued. Government loves that verse. By the strict standard some use, the colonists were sinners for fighting King George. That Sophie Scholl was wrong to resist Hitler.
Nothing could be further from the truth. It was a witty remark by Christ when the Pharisees were trying to use trickery to get him to say nobody should pay taxes to the Romans. They started with flattery and then asked him to rule. They expected to easily turn him into nothing more than an earthly anti-roman revolutionary.
He asked one of them for a coin. He asked who’s head was on it.
Basically he said it must belong to Caesar and walked off leaving them in slack jawed defeat.
It has nothing to do with “Christians must obey every rule the government makes”. Politicians would love you to think otherwise.

Patience, for now demonetization, destruction of reputation and ability to make a living are the American version of ISIS tool of choice for their enemies. They are not yet to the ISIS tactic of murder in their behavior—yet. When and if they can convince or pay somebody to start murdering people of faith it will happen.
She will not be the last. We will all get to choose between crossing the line we said we wouldn’t cross, or paying a price. Maybe losing a job, or a business, or custody of a child.
When we choose to stand firm, if we do, we will probably find ourselves standing pretty much alone. Don’t be surprised when it happens.

Tim, I assume that your post means you do not believe in organized religion ... that’s OK I do not either. But I do support a person’s right to stand up for their beliefs no matter how long they have held them.
Looks like Kennedy and the queers are getting ready to start burning Christians at the stake.
