I think they're about to find out. Heaven only knows how many ISIS are infiltrating the "refugees." These days it doesn't even take a cell. Individuals can radicalize over the internet and carry out lone wolf attacks.
On a lesser level, as soon as they settle into state housing and welfare checks, there will be demands for Shariah, veiled women and who knows what else, polygamy? And if the Europeans don't give in, they'll be deemed bigots.
THANK YOU Homer!!
Quite possibly the GREATEST running thread in FR history!
You deserve a break Homer, have one on me.
Loving it.
I am in! Please add me to your list if you proceed with this!
My final words on the project can be found at replies #95 and #130.
I liked having a foot in two different time periods so much I dove in and started a Civil War 160 years later project. It's coming along nicely with the approach of the 1860 election. It promises to be eventful. I have a new ping list that includes many alumni from WWII +70 years and a lot of new friends. Let me know by post or private reply if you want to jump on board. It promises to be an exciting 5 years.
An interesting aside can be found in column #1. Massive traffic jams were expected at the end of the Labor Day Holiday.
Gas rationing was, by now, a distant memory, and a lot of people got their cars off the cinder blocks and headed... anywhere!
We were poised for the greatest economic boom in world history. If you survived the war, it was a great time to be alive.
Even if you couldn’t find a place to live.
I’m thinking of leaving the present entirely and falling back to 1860. It has to be less stressful.
When I click on the photos of the newspapers I get “album is private” or word to that effect.
That’s strange. Someone has been posting all the WWII threads for the last 5 years and I haven’t heard about that problem before. Is it all the images or just the ones in the replies?
The Civil War thread is about to really get busy soon. Any any blood that IS shed I can wipe up with my handkerchief.
Great memories from the WWII threads. Rarely participate but do lurk on the Civil War threads.
At least you’ll know what to expect.
I was watching some lectures on World War II this morning while sorting zillions of Lego bits (by color). It’s always a pleasant surprise, in a way, when we win the Battle of Midway.
keep me on your WWII ping list.
I enjoyed it the first time thru and I am positive I’ll enjoy your follow up.
My Dad served in the Pacific theatre so I have a special interest.

That may be just how Adm. Nimitz thought of it.
Absolutely!
Nice
Love reading these...
I absolutely loved your WWII in “real tome.”
I was amazed at how much peopke were told in the papers and how respectfully the paper treated Hitler.
Watching it unfold was truly awesome. Thanks for the ping back to the trailer.
Probably more like “an expletive miracle.”
