Wednesday on his radio show, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh discussed the backlash within certain conservative circles to the candidacy of GOP front-runner Donald Trump. Limbaugh specifically focused Wall Street Journal columnist Bret Stephens, who unleashed a scathing attack in the Journal earlier this week aimed at Trump and his supporters.

Yes, indeed. Rush was so good on this subject today. I am going to call the GOPe “Tories” from now on.

Bret told us we weren’t classy! Boo hoo!
Yeah, Bret. Thanks for reminding me,. I gotta go to the restroom to get the lunch crumbs out of my beard.
It’s been very eye-opening to see so many on the right behave so callously towards a person that actually is saying the stuff they wanted and fighting back against the press like they hoped would have been done years ago.
well done.
Right.
The Right has a lot of “intellectual elite” and “academia elite” both of whom tend to have a superior attitude and contempt for others. There’s a certain arrogance about them. Academia has its own set of “politically correct” rules and often misses the common need for life and liberty in order to have a happy society.
Popular culture and conventional wisdom has completely lost the idea that happiness of the individual should be the main goal in a society.

Rush nails it.
But American values ARE conservative. It’s just that a lot of people don’t realize it, or don’t call it that. To them it’s just common sense.
Let’s not protest. It’s going just fine.
Please feel free to criticize us a little more, Wall Street Journal. And don’t change your name, whatever you do.
As if we didn’t know already.
We hold them in even worse regard than they do us..............

...unless the didn’t really believe it in the first place(?)
Interesting that Trump the billionaire resonates with the grass roots, but the so-called, “intelligentsia,” have nothing but scorn and opprobrium.
Milton Friedman was an intellectual, but he wasn’t part of the “elite.” He believed in good for the common individual and believed that individual freedom was the road to a happy and peaceful society.
It is the “elitist” attitudes of intellectuals and academics that cause them usually to excuse and be apologists for big government. It’s their big blind spot.
The premise of America is the divine worth of the individual and his right to life, liberty and pursuits for happiness, not the glories of government. The intellectual elite seem to have no interest in the common individual. The intellectual elite is what started Fabian Socialism and the parade of horribles that have followed.
I read the Bret Stephens article yesterday in the WSJ, and when I finished it,all I wanted to do was smash his teeth out.
Not joking
I disagree with Limbaugh on this. Conservatives have no reason to believe that Trump is one of us, except - perhaps - on the one issue of illegal immigration. He has a long track record of expressing liberal views on most issues. I almost think he’s a liberal Trojan Horse, intended to disrupt the normal Republican primary process and throw it into chaos.
In a last ditch effort to demoralize the conservative majority in the Republican Party they are calling us fake conservatives because we back Trump. They dont get it, WE KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TRUMP IS. He is a cringe worthy ex democrat YANKEE blow hard. But we are gambling he will deliver on THE critical issue of our time - the invasion of the USA from all over the world. Colonization.
