It happened in Kentucky minutes ago with Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis explaining to a gay couple why she would not give them a marriage license....
Cameras were there......
I wouldn’t either, made up rights, rights are from God, not man
Good for her. May the good Lord keep and protect her.
That County Clerk has real GUTS and I am proud of her standing her ground.
A Moral Wrong cannot be a Civil Right.
Civil disobedience. Hoo-ahh!
Do it everywhere! We will stand our ground.
I agree with her position on marriage, but don’t think that a govt official, acting in their official capacity, should be imposing their religious beliefs on others. If she doesn’t want to provide/process the licenses, why can’t she just have someone else in her office do it?
I believe she wants to be prosecuted, a Patriot and a rally cry for the silent majority. Enough is enough. FU Kennedy whom after being the deciding vote for gay marriage claimed Religious Liberty / Freedoms won’t be trampled.
Hope she doesn’t have a dog.
Unfortunately she seems to be the only one!
I agree with you. Choosing God over Caesar is a good thing, but if Caesar pays your salary then you do what he says or find another job.
I have a good friend, a magistrate in NC who lost his job over this exact same thing, who is now suing the state. She’s not the only one.
Do it everywhere???
:>)
Kim Davis is the new Rosa Parks

I just posted this thread about Michigan democrats trying to force religion based adoption agencies to provide victims to the predators.

It oversimplifies things to say that a Christian should get another job. The jobs that a Christian can hold in such cases is rapidly diminishing and is not limited to government jobs. For example, what if you run a bed and breakfast but cannot in good conscience allow homosexual couples to share the same bed in your home? That has already been ruled against. Many other examples could be given. And a significant percentage of jobs are government jobs. In Canada, their highest court has effectively ruled that school teachers cannot hold to conservative religious beliefs either inside of the classroom or even outside of it. Where does it all end? Somewhere we need to make a stand.
:: but dont think that a govt official, acting in their official capacity, should be imposing their religious beliefs on others. ::
I’d question whether this an “imposition of religious belief”. While the CC points to her religious moorings, is she not providing a public service according to the county charter and KY constitution?
What, specifically, are the terms used in the county charter?
Question: Can the SCOTUS amend an individual County charter without due process; by fiat?
If you agree, are we then no longer the united STATES of America?
Until someone in authority who has command of armed police forces stands up to the Federal government, this ruling and others will stand unchallenged. This is the theory of the lesser magistrate, that was invoked in pre-independence America to justify this country's secession from the British Empire.
