2. An anti-Trump ad deluge after Labor Day?
It's no secret the Republican establishment is unnerved by Donald Trump and his lead in national and key state polls.
And now, after weeks of assuming his support would be fleeting, there is a debate about how to take aim at Trump -- and just who should finance such an effort.
CNN's Maeve Reston noted that most GOP strategists see risks in having the attacks come from the other candidates or their directly affiliated super PACs. So, she reports, there is conversation about what other group might raise money for anti-Trump TV ads.
"There are a lot of donors out there who see it as much too dangerous, obviously, for the candidates, or their allied super PACs, to go after Trump," said Reston. "So they're looking to more establishment PACs to potentially take him down in post-Labor Day ads."
3. Bush is popular in the Hamptons, but has money problems elsewhere
Jeb Bush has a huge war chest and has enjoyed some summer fund-raising among the rich and famous in the Hamptons this month.

The only way to “take down” Trump in on principle. And the GOPe hasn’t had any principles in a very long time.
You Got That Right!
TRUMP is the Iron Dome candidate.
The GOPe are showing their true colors.
They are no different than the Democrats.
I guess they still have not learned that any further efforts to take down Trump will just boost him more in the polls. This is out of their control now, they need to just sit back and hope Trump self destructs, that is all they have left....well all that is legal anyway.
The simple fact the GOPe is contemplating such a move is enough proof IMO they haven’t any desire to see this country whole again. They don’t care about the country, only about their power, and that rhymes with Democrat.
I still kind of feel like i’m in a dream world with Trump leading the race.
I will vote for him, I’m just shocked. Never took him seriously. Have to now.
They will waste a whole lot of money to no avail!
Don't underestimate the damage half a billion dollars of negative ads can do.
Remember, MOST people know Jack.
So they think we’ll vote for Heb Boosh if only we see enough TV ads for him. They don’t get it... The people are angry. It’s like ‘92, but Trump is no Perot and Hillary is no Slick Willie.
I never too him seriously either. But after watching him speak to thousands as if he were talking to them at the breakfast table has very much impressed me. I like his style. He is Reaganesque with a twist of Don Rickles. Ok, more than just a twist......lol.
This won’t change how voters see Trump. It will only give Trump more ammo to use and he WILL use it!
They should be nervous. I would not be surprised if their smear campaign makes The Donald even more popular. Short of uncovering a major crime I don’t think anything they can throw at him will derail his juggernaut.
“I will vote for him, Im just shocked. Never took him seriously. Have to now.”
I am a Cruz supporter but could vote for Trump. If there is any indications of GOPe shenanigans, I will not vote for the GOPe candidate. Never thought I would say that. I will just vote the down party ticket.
"Get your a** out there on that stage, Willard! You're nothing but a G** D*****d loser!"
The only way Trump fails is if he “APOLOGIZES” for some remark or other, and that ain’t gonna happen!!! ;)
How can this be. Trump isn’t on the A list of acceptable candidates. He isn’t Jeb Bush, he’s not John Kasich, not Chris Christie... How can this be? This has to stop.
That’s cool to know. I figured him to be aloof. But he doesn’t seem that way at all.
He could win!!! Cruz for VP 16 YEARS should be our new motto.
Put pressure on Trump to pick Ted.
