Tampa Bay, FL A Florida family seeks justice after their son Jason Westcott, was killed by members of a SWAT team, during a drug raid on his house which yielded only $2.00 worth of marijuana.
An internal investigation absolved officers of any wrongdoing though police only found .02 grams of marijuana in Westcotts home.
They have IA, they have internal investigations but when you police yourself, you have that veil of concern by the outsider, said attorney T.J. Grimaldi.
On Tuesday, attorney T.J. Grimaldi, representing the family of Westcott, informed the city that family would be filing a lawsuit, after finding numerous glaring inconsistencies in police statements in the aftermath of the killing.
We have developed and seen what we view to be significant inconsistencies with the way that the police department portrayed this case from the get-go all the way to its conclusion, he said. We have put the city and the police department on notice that we are going to be filing a lawsuit, Grimaldi said.

No, Westcott wasn't killed over $2.00 worth of pot. He was shot because he aimed a gun at a policeman.
Subhuman!
Allegedly. If he did he was merely pointing his gun at illegal home invaders.
How about they arrest these people when they leave their homes instead of playing Seal Team 6?
And why are we not surprised?
If the dogs start warning me and I get a weapon whoever comes crashing through the door is going to the morgue. I hope folks here will remember that. I don’t grow drugs, have drugs or sell drugs. There is no reason for the police to be coming round here. I suppose I would not do anything different if there were.
He was killed because the police acted as though they were entering Pablo Escobar’s house. Arrest him when he leaves the home, then execute the search warrant.
Reminds me of the Richard Pryor routine about Leon Spinks:
Heres a n****a get busted for a dollar and fifty cents worth of cocaine.
Do you hear me? A dollar and fifty cents worth of cocaine!
Have you ever seen a dollar and fifty cents worth of cocaine? A dollar and fifty cents worth of cocaine melt before you open the paper! You got to have a ballistics expert on the spot to examine that kinda ****.
And people say well how did he get busted for a dollar and fifty cents worth of cocaine?. I have a theory:
If you buy a dollar and fifty cents worth of cocaine from any cocaine dealer in America, he gonna tell on yo ass. Aint no dealer in America facing life in prison for a dollar and fifty cents alone.
Were they in uniform or in plain clothes? Unless they were in uniforms it could be a home invasion for all the victim knows.
What would your reaction be to your door being kicked in by u know assailants?
$2.00 worth of marijuana. That must be some great stuff.
In some cities that is certainly true. The larger the police force the more likely there will be these deviants among the men in blue and the more likely the Department will cover it up. they don’t like to fire people for these little things. It makes new employees harder to find.
He was shot for protecting his home.
Untermensch! Der Vaterland must be kept pure!
On the other hand if the person is dangerous you may be putting innocents at risk trying to apprehend them in public.
I generally don't make stand on a single news story. We saw what happened with George Zimmerman and Darren Wilson.
Comeon! .02 grams! He was a major drug dealer.
Three seeds and a stem.
I thought just one roach and some stems.
This also raises the question of what type of psychological screening these people are given at time of application.
I would offer psychological screenings be held randomly along with lie detector tests as fitness for ability to continue the job. It’s only my opinion but it is a shame to even think that. NSA employees are subject to same all the time even low level employees but with differences in both screening.
on the tagline? lol..... i even found out how to make it home & who doesn’t love a chinese omlette? iwatched a video on yt & copied their technique but you know, when somebody else makes the dish it always tastes better
