The Establishment’s Lies Are Catching Up (great article!)

They had it all. The GOP party bosses appeared to be winning every legislative and electoral battle with conservatives. After beating back almost every primary challenge in 2014 and after passing one liberal bill after another with the support of Democrats, the elite technocrats and cronies within the party were high-fiving and slapping each other’s backs over their successfully crushing of the tea party.

Except – they never won anything. It was all an illusion. And in fact, their temporary victories set the stage for an irrevocable defeat in the long-run.

Last cycle, in my previous job, I was heavily involved in recruiting primary candidates to run against the phony Republican political class. The most striking lesson throughout the election season was that not a single establishment Republican would run on the veracity of their views – the ones they espouse and pursue in Washington. They co-opted all of our talking points on the core issues while often accusing the conservative candidates of being ideologically impure. In addition, they used their superior money, resources, and talent to bury the upstart candidates – most of whom had only rudimentary campaign resources and novice staff – before the candidates could even define themselves.

The bravado from the GOP establishment was only emboldened by the smashing victory over the Democrats in the general election.

Trump is their worst nightmare and they haven’t a clue that they created his stunning popularity....

... and whatever you think of Donald Trump ... whatever he deficiencies with conservative principles ... it's clear that unlike our current president he loves America. What's more, he his providing a level of confidence, a level of energy, a level of passion we have not seen in a Republican candidate since the great Ronald Reagan. May God bless Donald Trump.

We have to get stronger in the Republican party, just like the communists slowly got stronger until they took over the Democrat party. Now they have the White House and most of the party leadership.

Do you think the rat voters will ever come around to the above?

JP Morgan, Carnegie, Vanderbilt and others did not get incredibly wealthy by being generous.
Many of their business practices gave rise to the union movement and regulatory environment we now live with.

However, they *did* risk their money and futures to build the foundation of the American industrial miracle.

Today, too many privileged children of successful people are content to shuffle paper, hire money managers and wallow in excess.
The Hilton children are prime examples of the decay at the top.
They themselves have built nothing and never will.

There are still some people of the old robber baron mentality, Donald Trump is just one of them.

We need more people like Trump and far fewer Boehners and McConnells.

"Even if Trump goes away, the idea is gonna remain"

I cannot agree with the implication that the idea will remain and be effective. How effective is the Tea Party right now. The name and the Tea Party idea remain, but it is ineffective. Trump is needed in order to give the unbending leadership that the Tea Party lacked. Maybe he is the Born Again Tea party.

“I am hopeful that Trump will pair with Cruz for 2016.”

I think Cruz has the perfect strategy; if GOP voters start to closely examine Trump’s positions and he falters, Cruz is there as the solid, consistent, proven enemy of the GOPe conservatives can go to. If, on the other hand, none of Trump’s past positions end up mattering and primary voters stick with him, Cruz is perfectly positioned to be Trump’s running mate. He’s the only one running that Trump believes he can fully trust and his last name may even help mend some fences (no pun intended) with the Hispanic community. As an added bonus, while Trump stays high in the polls, he’s doing Cruz’s dirty work for him and beating up the GOPe candidates. I like how this is shaping up...

Don’t know... we can only keep trying to exposing it as much as possible. The left has been extremely clever playing a long game, taking over the education system, newspapers, hollywood, the unions, etc. Now they’ve managed to take over the Democrat party. I think our country is in a death spiral unless we can use the GOP to gain some ground back.

When he falters, then Cruz or Walker can take up the banner
Who's stopping them now? Or are you admitting, with out saying it out loud, that Cruz or Walker are (at best) second best and aren't capable of winning on their own?

True Conservative?
Is a big government solution to immigration “conservative”?

Is giving the federal government the power to tell a private employer whom he can and cannot hire “conservative”?

The reality is the the anti(illegal) immigrant movement is not “conservative”. It is “populist”.

The entire Trump support is “Populist”.

True “conservatives”, those who favor capitalism, freedom, small government and the Constitution are really a small number. Half the Tea Party is not “conservative”. It is “populist”.

The Donald Peron is the direct decendant of Juan and Evita and is the proof that some in the US already think like a 3rd world banana republic.

The problem is that the true “conservative” candidates have to find some way to attract the “populists” who are more emotional than logical.

“Conservatives” and “populists” have the same common enemy in the Oligarchs, the Corporatists. But the Bernie Sanders left also sees the “populists” as natural allies with the same common enemy.

But more and more, it is apparent that there is no one in the GOP or Dem fields of candidates that comes anywhere near Trump and his vision to make America great again.

You are so correct.

I was one of the first at FR to repeatedly promote the idea of Cruz as VP for Trump. that was way back in June when Trump was still working on getting traction.

Now, the more I see of Trump, and of Cruz, the more I hope Trump looks outside the political circle to find a VP who shares his vision.

Well said.

Trump is not the hope of conservatives. He is another fake just like Juan McCain and Mitt Romney. Until a couple of years ago, he was a Democrat. He loves Hillary and abortion and most of the liberal memes. TRUMP IS A FAKE. If he gets the nomination, he will lie down and surrender to Hillary or whichever Socialist the Democrats nominate.

.......”Trump is the focus. He’s not the answer but he is the temporary soldier that will destroy their damned house of cards and the sooner the better..... When he falters, then Cruz or Walker can take up the banner.”.........

Few realize how much of what Trumps doing is a direct result of Cruz...The Rally against the Iran deal in Sept. is an example as Trump was “invited” by Cruz to be among them as a untied front against the Iran deal.

Cruz is doing a great deal behind the scenes and orchestrating much, with both his and Trumps teams. What we are seeing is a breaking down of the “stronghold” in Washington. There are many more operating in this arena then we could possibly know!

They’re just a couple. Although Cruz is my choice. I really don’t think Walker is my cup of tea, really.

And, yes, with Trump as the focal point and the match that will like the fire to the GOPe House of Cards, he is the only game in town. It doesn’t mean I support him. But a wise candidate on the slate would do well to let this play out a few more months.

Am not thinking about any "tea party", that's not even on my radar. What's going on now transcends and exceeds that, which is exactly what needs to happen. People who were not involved, didn't care for or even opposed tea party activities have gotten animated. People across multiple demographics are waking up to the fact that no one responds to them, represents them, cares a fig about even listening and are concluding that they are being ruled over, not represented. The "tea party" is essentially worthless unless their message, the idea, makes the transition to the whole constituency of America. Such things happen painfully slow, if they happen at all. There's been a slow burn for years, now we're witnessing a leap forward in the process, prompted by an unexpected messenger.

I loved how Trump was sucking the air out of the Iowa fair...while Cruz was building the "firewall" in the south on his Bus Tour. These two know exactly what they are doing...and it's a beautiful thing to observe.

Some, not all. Certainly Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Michele Bachmann and many others have not turned on their constituents.

Trump is a bombastic egoist.

He's not a conservative. In fact, I'm not sure that he has core beliefs.

He's not someone I would want as a friend, even if I had his money, or he had mine.

He can't be trusted. Several women, at least, have found this to be true.

But he is saying what needs to be said on the only issue that matters this election. His ideas are somewhat half-baked, but at least he sees the problem.

So, as long as he is in the race (pray God to victory), I am going to hold my nose and vote for him, hoping for the best, but not really expecting it.
