Italian book that explores different family types including same sex was banned by mayor of Venice, but pontiff becomes unlikely supporter ... In the book, the egg encounters a pair of gay penguins, lesbian rabbits successfully bringing up a family, as well as other family models, including a single parent hippo, a mixed race dog couple, and kangaroos that have adopted polar bear cubs...
Now Pardi has found an unlikely supporter in Pope Francis, who through his staff has written to the author praising her work. His holiness is grateful for the thoughtful gesture and for the feelings which it evoked, hoping for an always more fruitful activity in the service of young generations and the spread of genuine human and Christian values, wrote Peter B Wells, a senior official at the Vatican secretariat of state.
The letter, dated 9 July and recently seen by the Guardian, was a response to a parcel of childrens books sent by Pardi to the pontiff in June. The collection from her publisher, Lo Stampatello, including seven or eight books which deal with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues (LGBT), was accompanied by a heartfelt letter from the author describing the attacks she has come under in recent months. ...

“.... a generic form letter response sent by a staff member is a sure sign of the apocalypse. “ —————
LOL! You got that right!
That’s an accurate quote!
It provides NO praise of the authors book or prior behavior whatsoever.
It merely expresses the hope that they will better serve humanity and Christianity in the future.
Which is something you would do well to say to anyone on the planet, including an atheist or satanist.
It’s something you’d expect in a generic form letter response to a gift, which is exactly what it is.
It doesn’t say that their book or prior behavior was consistent with genuine human and Christian values — it doesn’t provide any evaluation or commentary on either whatsoever. That’s where your reading comprehension skills have failed you. Probably helped along by a lying title from a leftist publication.
The book EVOKED these feelings.
You aren't going to be able to fix this one.
And OMG! I remember people on F.R. saying she needed to "STFU until she knows what she is talking about."
Can she talk now?
Papolatry is alive and well here at Free Republic. And Protestants can't even post a thread on the religion forum without caucusing it.
if you sent him those things, he’d never even see them. That’s the point.
Traditional Orthodox Catholicism (pre-liberal, pre-Vatican II) is not and never has been pro-Zionist or pro-Israel. In fact quite the opposite. All the ancient churches (without exception) regard the Jews as "cast off" and superseded by the chrstian church.
The Vatican was opposed to the creation of Israel from the very beginning of the Zionist movement. True conservative Catholics are unfortunately not only anti-Israel but anti-Jewish as well.
I am opposed to liberal Catholicism and sometimes browse traditional Catholic sites to see what is going on. The vast majority of these sites believe the Jews are the ultimate evil force behind everything going wrong in the world today. One site I often browse actually believes in the authenticity of The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion.
If you are pro-Israel or pro-Jewish, the Catholic/Orthodox/Miaphysite/Nestorian churches are not for you.
Pinging ebb tide to confirm what I'm telling you.
THIS IS THE LAST POPE.
The Catholic Church is dead.
While I of course put no stock in the "prophecies of St. Malachy," I don't get the identification of "Peter the Roman" with Francis. According to Malachy's prophecy (yes, I've read it) "Peter the Roman" sounds like a good guy--feeding his flock among many difficulties.
Doesn't that sound like a good guy?
Me too and I’m Catholic.
The Vatican said the closing blessing of the private letter was addressed to Pardi and not in support of teachings which went against church doctrine on gender theory.
It's the falling away that must come first. Satan infiltrated the church from day 1. None of this should be surprising to people who know the Word.
I quit.
Naaaah. I don't think so. The word misnomer comes to mind.
If he sends back an endorsement, then HE IS RESPONSIBLE.
That is the point. If he wants to claim to be the Vicar of Christ - uniquely acting on behalf of Jesus Christ on Earth - then he needs to accept responsibility. Of course, it would help if he would also learn a bit of basic theology, and a touch of reason would help.
The problem is that Pope Francis shows no sign of ever having met Jesus Christ, or of being qualified to claim any knowledge of God.
Catholic church leadership is in the pocket of the Globalists....quite willingly as well. The sooner it’s membership understands the direction their church is going the better....Christians need to leave before they won’t be able to.
He didn’t send back an endorsement.
Actually he didn’t send back anything at all.
What his staff sent was not an endorsement of the book.
In fact it offers no commentary or evaluation of the book whatsoever.
Feel embarrassed yet?
“What his staff sent was not an endorsement of the book.”
Enjoy living in fantasy land? I guess so.

It was the equivalent of getting an issue of Penthouse and responding, “Isn’t the human body wonderful?”
