Innocuous phrases Alison Parker used every day to describe her job may have led to her death, simply because Vester Lee Flanagan thought they were racist.
The 24-year-old TV reporter who was shot and killed by the disgruntled ex-employee on Wednesday somehow angered him by using terms like 'swinging' by an address or going out into the 'field' while she was an intern at WDBJ.
It sheds further light on the murderer's erratic behavior, details of which have emerged since he callously gunned down Parker and cameraman Adam Ward live on breakfast TV.
Flanagan, 41, clashed repeatedly with photojournalists, belittling them in public and intimidating them with his aggressive and violent temper, before he was fired in 2013.
But now colleagues have revealed his assumptions were 'crazy' and even described one occasion where he believed someone bringing a watermelon in for fellow staff was a racist joke directed at him. They were included in a complaint filed by Flanagan while Parker was working at the Roanoke, Virginia, station in 2012.
The report, seen by the New York Post, that was written by news editor Greg Baldwin read: 'One was something about 'swinging' by some place; the other was out in the 'field'.'
Parker, who was referred to by her middle name as Bailey in the documents, was never disciplined for the remarks.
But they appear to be the 'racist' comments Flanagan was referring to when he Tweeted in the aftermath of the deadly shooting.
Ryan Fuqua, a video editor at WDBJ, told The Post: 'That's how that guy's mind worked. Just crazy, left-field assumptions like that.'
'He was unstable. One time, after one of our live shots failed, he threw all his stuff down and ran into the woods for like 20 minutes.'

The guy was perpetually aggrieved, bat s&^% crazy, and an Obamabot. Figures.
Well, leftism is a mental illness.
Charleston shooter: Racist! Ban the Confederate flag!
TV shooting: It’s those damn guns again!
Another reason why corporate America moved off shore was to get away from these secretive phoney baloney ‘human rights’ kangaroo courts that coddles negros with hurt feelings.
And a thread yesterday on FR detailed how the staff didn’t dare fire him because of the race card and the Gaystapo.
Does anybody still think this country can be salvaged?
Poor kid. She was using regular language for ordinary events and Captain Bat~ ____ took offence. No way she could know.
He was not that much more insane than the typical leftist activist, who tells us that every word is racist, everything could be a “trigger” (interesting choice of a word) and everything is aggression or microaggression and the “oppressed” person has every right to react with violence. He was the ideal new communist man, fighting the “revolution” and executing his “enemies.”
Of course, the leftists say that this proves that ordinary, sane people shouldn’t be allowed to own guns.
This guy was a terrorist, pure and simple. He was acting just like the Jihadies that take offense at everything and kill because of their outrage.
Anyone else remember Obama in that video on the street talking to one of his “people” telling them to “get in their face” and holding his hand like a gun? The Ayatollah Obama is directing and encouraging these actions. Just like a small percentage of muslims are violent, a small percent of race hustlers are violent, but they are just as much terrorists as ISIS.
Yup, that's what people like him do when they need to sneak some cocaine.
Good point.
A black racist who hated whites found more excuses to hate them.
What else is new?
Too bad he offed himself. A trial would have been spectacular to watch.........
Indeed, and who can really blame them?
“The guy was perpetually aggrieved, bat s&^% crazy, and an Obamabot. Figures.”
Disagree. He was not crazy, he was just full of rage after continual indoctrination about racism by Ob@stard, the media and black leaders.
Yes. And the fact that his complaints were tossed out of even those kangaroo courts is strong evidence that this guy was nothing but an evil, unbalanced, “professional victim” with no real case against anyone - other himself for his own lack of talent and ability.
In Florida, we have a law called The Baker Act for such people.
I blame the negro homosexuals.
I once wiped soot from my heavily padded winter coat muttering “it’s black!” only to see one black colleague jump up in indignation. A black prospective employee in the same company was upset when a secretary led her into the boss’s office. She felt the secretary should walk next to her rather than in front. A sign of racism.
