Every Day Carry, or EDC, as the name implies, are the things you carry every day. Car keys, wallet, etc. From a preparedness perspective however, your EDC may be all you have available in an emergency situation or all that you have to help get you home.
DISCLAIMER: When referring to subsequent posts, always remember to check your local laws to see what can be carried legally and what can get you arrested.
I live in a state where it is almost impossible, unless youre a celebrity or politician, to get a Concealed Carry Permit, so a firearm is not on my list. My list follows:
In shirt pocket
Reading Glasses
Cell Phone
Pen
On body
Solar powered watch (on left wrist)
Paracord Bracelet (10 of parachute cord on right wrist)
Left front pants pocket
Wallet
Lip Balm
Lighter (I dont smoke, but fire is life)
Whistle (for signaling)
Single cell AAA LED Flashlight
Nail Clipper
Swiss Army Knife Classic
(Whistle, Flashlight, Clipper, and Knife are on a single 1 keyring)
Small (11 grams) can of pepper spray
Right front pants pocket
Keys with Swiss Tech Utili Key
Spyderco Byrd folding knife (2 blade)
Cold Steel Voyager folding knife (4 blade)
Back Pockets
2 handkerchiefs (1 for sweat or runny noses, 1 for use as a bandage/dressing)
Comb
Sounds like a lot but doesnt bother or get in the way. So what do you carry everyday?
My Kimber Ultra CDP II LG.
Not much else.
Glock G30s
Yup, it’d be nice if I could do the same. “Go to California” they said. “The weather is great” they said.
HK P2000SK .40 cal
Prepper Ping
Very classy handgun.
SigSauer P238
Benchmade Barrage in pants pocket. Pistol on the belt. Spare glasses, a week’s worth of prescriptions, ibuprofren, iPad, Clifs bar, 10’ of paracord in a backpack that goes into home and work and stays in the car in between. Everything else is in the car.
I couldn’t keep my pants up with all the stuff that you carry!
S&W model 19,plus a detective special on the ankle.
I forgot about the HK91A2 in the trunk.
Love gun porn as much as the next guy, and you both have made great carry choices, but if that is all you have on you and you have to make a multi-day hike to get home, what then?
A firearm is a very, very, important piece of the EDC puzzle, (and I wish I could legally carry), but it sould not be the only piece.
Gun selection is always welcome, but what else is in your kit/load out?
CRKT Crawford Knife.
Gibbs Rule #9
DON’T forget about the HK91A2 in the trunk.
Benchmade 710 McHenry and Williams
It helps to be tall and deep pockets are always a primary consideration when buying pants.
Benchmade makes some great knives.
Bersa 32 acp w/laserlight under barrel, with three extra mags, or the Taurus 22 magnum eight round snubby with three strip loaders, soft point bullets. Also have a nice pocket knife, a flashlight, a ballpoint pen, wallet and keys. ... and an attitude that will no longer tolerate for pc. At my age, a life sentence for terminating a few ferals from the gene pool would only mean a few years of library work.
My Kimber Tac II loaded with 45 ACP - 230 gr +P JHP - XTP rounds and 4 extra Wilson Mags, so I can two extra rounds on target per mag..
Nice gun. Well worth the difference in price IMO, after having tried out a number of 380s.
I like the recurve shape of the blade on the 710. Good lookin’ knife.
