I live in a state where it is almost impossible, unless youre a celebrity or politician, to get a Concealed Carry Permit, so a firearm is not on my list. My list follows:
In shirt pocket
Reading Glasses
Cell Phone
Pen
On body
Solar powered watch (on left wrist)
Paracord Bracelet (10 of parachute cord on right wrist)
Left front pants pocket
Wallet
Lip Balm
Lighter (I dont smoke, but fire is life)
Whistle (for signaling)
Single cell AAA LED Flashlight
Nail Clipper
Swiss Army Knife Classic
(Whistle, Flashlight, Clipper, and Knife are on a single 1 keyring)
Small (11 grams) can of pepper spray
Right front pants pocket
Keys with Swiss Tech Utili Key
Spyderco Byrd folding knife (2 blade)
Cold Steel Voyager folding knife (4 blade)
Back Pockets
2 handkerchiefs (1 for sweat or runny noses, 1 for use as a bandage/dressing)
Comb
Sounds like a lot but doesnt bother or get in the way. So what do you carry everyday?
My Kimber Ultra CDP II LG.
Not much else.
Prepper Ping
Benchmade Barrage in pants pocket. Pistol on the belt. Spare glasses, a week’s worth of prescriptions, ibuprofren, iPad, Clifs bar, 10’ of paracord in a backpack that goes into home and work and stays in the car in between. Everything else is in the car.
I couldn’t keep my pants up with all the stuff that you carry!
CRKT Crawford Knife.
Gibbs Rule #9
Benchmade 710 McHenry and Williams
Bersa 32 acp w/laserlight under barrel, with three extra mags, or the Taurus 22 magnum eight round snubby with three strip loaders, soft point bullets. Also have a nice pocket knife, a flashlight, a ballpoint pen, wallet and keys. ... and an attitude that will no longer tolerate for pc. At my age, a life sentence for terminating a few ferals from the gene pool would only mean a few years of library work.
I live in a very small town and work out of my home, so my “carry” is everything.
Outside the house, firearm is either Kahr CW9 or Shield 9. Inside the house, trust me you don’t want to B&E my home.
Nothing. I used to EDC all kinds of crap but don’t care anymore. People often speak in the negative sense of expending an extraordinary amount of effort to stay alive/keep someone alive. I put the EDC cult in that same category. So no paracord bracelets, swiss army knives, 3 different fire-making capabilities, no subscription to NutNFancy’s youtube channel, etc. I have a cell phone but I had one before it was considered “EDC gear.”
Sorry the darwinian nature of EDC doesn’t interest me. Just look around. What the hell you wanna hang around here for?
JMO/YMMV
Like I’m going to tell you, the local police and BTAFE what I have. It’s a surprise. :)
Nuthin’. I mostly stay at home (husband & I). In the boonies, a Dollar General has just gone in about 4 miles from our house & that takes care of having to drive to town very much. - Grew up eating white beans & cornbread, a little bit of candy, an 8 oz. cold drink & I’m good to go. What we’ve stored is pretty basic. A finicky person wouldn’t last here. Got an organic garden; growing tomatoes & a few other things. I did fix a frozen pizza tonight; but that’s not too often - don’t like park sausage, gives me gout, shrimp gives me headaches, also chocolate if I have very much of it. - Most people would think we were poor & backward. We are.
S&W M&P.357sig, 3” S&W folding knife, hand cuffs with key on keyring (handcuffs are useful for more than detaining someone, you can also use them to lock gates and fences behind you), 4” adjustable wrench on keyring, lighter, ID, Dog tag on keyring (for blood type), are just a few of my favorite things.
I mostly carry books:
“Dreams from my Father”
“The Audacity of Hope”
“Heather Has Two Mommies”
“White Privilege: Essential Readings on the Other Side of Racism”
“The Planned Parenthood Women’s Health Encyclopedia”
Ricochet: Confessions of a Gun Lobbyist
What more could I need?
Note:
The above is only in nightmares. When awake, I’m in one of the most anti-gun states in the country - Maryland. I’d like to carry a Glock 17 Gen 4, but the best I can do is a couple of pocket knives - one the Smith & Wesson SWBG2T Border Guard 2 Rescue Knife that could be helpful in all sorts of emergencies, which I chose in part because the name sounds non-threatening, and the other a very small Swiss Army knife for smaller more routine tasks. Throw in a wallet, reading glasses, lighter, 1-AAA LED flashlight, and that’s about it.
Glock 30
Chambered in 460 Roland
BY the way..... why are you asking this question? What's the point? Is it to inform, show off or to get intel? Just wondering.
Remington 870 in the car and ten rounds double ought. I pretty much can get everything else within four miles from work or home.
A few notes:
Your 4” blade may not be legal in CA. Typically it was a maximum of 3” blade. Though such laws have been fluid of late.
Reading glasses need a primary and alternate. A credit card sized wallet Fresnel lens magnifier is a great backup:

Ink on paper tens to run in the rain or other water, pencil on paper does not.
A cellphone has automatic GPS tracking by about any level of government including local police. Your communications on it are not private as well. So if you must have one, you should have single, one-use code words to communicate important ideas.
A battery powered quartz watch will typically last around four years. Replacement batteries around two years. Much better than solar.
You might consider a nylon strap rappel belt (1 ton test) as your ordinary pants belt. With a carabiner on it, it is useful in many emergency situations.
I’m a fan of flashlights, and you might consider one that is multifunction. Many different styles including hand dynamo powered, flashing, red light, area light, etc.
Weapons that are not thought of as weapons but are effective as weapons. For instance, a common Master lock on woven parachute cord handle works well as a blackjack.
A neckerchief is better than a hankie, because it is typically long enough to use as a sling or like an ACE bandage.
Ruger SR1911, wallet, keys, knife plus clothes suitible for the location and temperature. Except when travaling in Canada no gun , add dog repellent and cane or walking stick (was a schovel handle).
Left front pocket: Swiss army knife, money clip.
Right front pocket: Keys.
Right front watch pocket (Levis 501s): Challenge coin, JIC.
Left rear pocket: Wallet.
Right rear pocket: Gerber skeleton 4" folder.
Right hip: Kimber .45 in Milt Sparks Summer Special holster.
Left hip: Spare magazine and Surefire 6PX Defender flaslight in an Akers combo holster (very nice package, BTW).
Also left hip in front of the flashlight/mag holder: Cell phone in clip holster. Had to change to the left years ago and retrain my habit after I started carrying.
That's about it.
Mine is sans pliers and a much cheaper knock off version I picked up at a flea market for a buck. I have used the heck out of it and it works great.
A folding knife I picked up at a flea market for a buck (the guy had 20 so I bought them all and passed them out to family and friends)
Three Mylar "space blankets" in case we get caught out and need to keep warm.
Two cheap LED flashlights.
An Emergency Zombiepocaylpse lighter (so-called because it it wrapped in paracord with a loop and a carabiner clip. NOT part of my three fire starting systems)
All of the necessary cords for my phone to charge it and to hook it to a computer. And of course my fire phone.
ID and cash and cards etc.
And other things that are subject to the first rule of Fight Club.
