A gunman killed a reporter and videographer for a CBS affiliate in Virginia in a shooting that was broadcast live Wednesday morning.
Alison Parker and Adam Ward, a reporter and cameraman for CBS Roanoke affiliate WDBJ-TV, died in the shooting, Parker's mother confirmed to CBS News.
WDBJ-TV reports that deputies from Franklin County and Bedford County were on the scene.
The shooting happened at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Virginia.
My wife was there two weeks ago for her sorority reunion.

Sad, but you are probably right. A muzzie wouldn’t have targeted that low profile of a setting. This seems targeted. He shot the cameraman and then gunned down the reporter as she ran away. Firing multiple times at her.
The photo sure does look like one to me too. Its very early though, so anything could really still be on the table.

Might be good to wait for the facts on this one. It's odd. How did the gunman know to go specifically to that newsroom and that he'd be able to at that early hour? Nutjobs are usually more random.
Fix news is now reporting that the reporter and cameraman WERE NOT to be married. The reporter had just moved in with a boyfriend and those two were planning on getting married.
Of course that still does not rule out a love triangle.

WDBJ said that Adam Ward was engaged to a WDBJ producer, Melissa Ott. It was her last morning producing the show and there was a celebration earlier in the morning. She planned to move to a new job in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Ward was going to follow here there.
Parker was also dating a WDBJ staffer, one of the morning show anchors.
That’s a much better pic. That’s going to be enough to nail the perp I’ll bet. Most likely, if he is somebody known to the victims he shouldn’t be hard to track down. If he’s a random gunman which I’d doubt, more difficult.

Yup, it is known as the Moonshine Capital of the US. Too me it has the look of a deranged psycho. Probably had it in for the news people for something. 6:45AM? Gee, what could set someone off at that time of the day. Hopefully they fry this guy if they catch him alive. Frankly if they take him out it will be best. Call for more gun control in 3...2....1
