Former Republican Rep. Ron Paul blasted the presidential hopeful, Donald Trump for being authoritarian on Alan Colmes Show recently.
Pauls comments about Trump came about when he was asked if Donald Trump was good or bad for the Republican Party, to which Paul replied, chuckling, Well I dont even care whether hes good or bad for the Republican party. I dont have much interest in that per se. But, I think hes a dangerous person and a lot of people find him kind of funny and they love him, even libertarian types love him
When Colmes presses Paul to explain why Trump is so dangerous, Paul states:
Well, they like him because he is so disruptive to the party system, and I enjoy that too! But, I think he is a man .if conditions deteriorate, which they can people want to be told what to do And I know what the answer is, and Ill do this, and I am the man to this. he comes across very welland people listen to him and I believe that he may be raising white horses on questions and hes going to ride in
Paul went on further to say that Trump is the virtual opposite of what a libertarian is, Hes an authoritarian and he claims thats how hes made all his money. So, I see that as dangerous.
A few months ago, when Trump made his announcement that he would be running for president, he wasted no time in asserting his authority in his speech. He said,
I will stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. And we wont be using a man like Secretary Kerry that has absolutely no concept of negotiation, whos making a horrible and laughable deal, whos just being tapped along as they make weapons right now and then goes into a bicycle race at 72-years-old and falls and breaks his leg. I wont be doing that. And I promise, I will never be in a bicycle race that I can tell you.
We said. I am sick and tired of the do-nothing politicians who line their pockets and laugh all the way to their Cayman Island banks. Public servants? My ass!
Make sure you have some Obama Water ready in case you do faint. LOL!
Who the heck are you to state my political leaning for Donald Trump is a cult?
That’s mighty bold and outrageous talk for someone who doesn’t know me, and probably millions of others.
Look, Trump is a politician. I don’t “TRUST” any of them, do you? But he’s also laying out an agenda that I can agree with. I’m also weighing his potential electability, and it is very high right now.
We ARE NOT voting for a SAVIOR. Leave that to God. We are voting for which politician is going to be president, for goodness sakes!
Get a grip, and stop insulting half the people on this board.

I think there's a pro-Trump post earlier on that you forgot to contribute to...
Ron Paul has his own "combover" eyebrows:
Because Trump has tardily decided to anoint himself the spokesman for White Northwestern European Man. Never mind atheism, never mind homosexuality, never mind evolution, never mind eugenics or euthanasia--even never mind the "new world order." This is a War of the Chromosomes and we "homophobic extremists" of Northwestern European descent can't let those awful homophobic extremists among the moslems or the Blacks win. Our "homophobia" is good while theirs (such as it is, since they're politically allied with homosexuals) is bad.
The entire political divide is literally between people who have the "same religion" but who hate each other. This is not to excuse Blacks and Hispanics for the fact that every single one of their politicians is an extreme radical right down the line on every single issue (why do they even vote for such people if they are homophobes?), not does it excuse conservative Americans who get upset because moslems are "homophobic" or don't believe in the "separation of religion and state." But religion and even ideology is being flushed down the tubes in the name of ethno-cultural solidarity and I don't understand it.
I don't understand ethno-cultural politics at all, liberal or conservative. I only understand theological politics.
Trump will make the trains run on time. We have had Mao.
lol,,,
I guess dictators are more palatable to YOUR taste, huh? Did I say anything about me voting for Trump or supporting him? Come on, “admit it”!
“Chileans didnt do so bad when Allende was replaced with Pinochet.”
Nice Retort! Much better than I could have done. And by the way, some Chileans did pretty badly under Pinochet, the ones that nearly transformed the country into another Cuba.
A happy ending for anyone that values freedom!
Mr. Paul must be invested in his son’t flagging campaign. No wonder he is sore.
WHERE?..
If you find the little bitty Paul’s scary, you’re not much of a man. =P
In all seriousness though, I don’t. Weirder and more out there on a number of things, sure. Maybe that’s semantics.
But I feel actually a little safer that I know what I’m getting and I know what to expect from a Paul (Ron or Rand) presidency.
Trump, I have no clue yet. Frankly, that scares ME a bit.
He is the reincarnation of Harold Stassen.
But think about that for a minute.
I don’t like those people that you mentioned either. But I don’t want an authoritarian doing the same kinds of things that Obama does to those he disagrees with.
Personally I don’t want ANY authoritarian as POTUS, even if it’s “fun” to see him give grief to those we don’t like.
