During the August 23 airing of Third Rail on Al Jazeera, the executive director of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, Leah Gunn Barrett, suggested women are too weak to be allowed to carry guns for self-defense on college campuses.
She made this suggestion in the face of Florida state Representative Rehwinkel Vasilinda (D-9th), although Vasilinda was the victim of attempted rape while in collegean attempted rape that she was able to stop by grabbing the gun her father had given her for self-defense.
Vasilinda made clear she wants to see Florida pass laws opening the door for women on campuses today to be similarly armed for self-defense.
Barrett responded to Vasilinda by claiming college campuses are some of the safest places in the nation and asking why we would want to change that by allowing law-abiding women to carry guns for self-defense. Barrett then made clear that she would never allow her daughter, who is a sophomore in college, to attend a school where women and other law-abiding citizens are allowed to carry guns for self-defense.

You can see why three-gun competition has sucked a lot of the oxygen away from other sections of the shooting sports - it's both practical training and full of action.
How could they possibly have been less safe? Liberalism really is a mental disorder.
Women must be accepted into Ranger and SEAL training.
Women are too weak to carry guns for self defense.
And this kind of thinking doesn’t even phase the libtard mind.
First thing I thought too.
I guess we’re back to peeing on the rapist. The feminine approach to self defense.
My 5’4” 122 lb wife carries a Sig P238. The best 380 out there IMO. With the Hornady nasty stuff it’s pretty respectable. Couple of rounds center mass will do the trick, with a some left over for the guy’s Johnson.
Dangerous weapons go well with petite packages.....
Oh, my! What a complete FOOL!
Maybe if they pick too big a gun for them, but then again, its not actually in your hand all day.
She’s doing pretty well for being 13.
They should check with my beautiful daughter and her .40 sig sauer But the better be polite when they do!
Well, there goes the argument for women in military combat.
I noticed she carries her handgun using the Israeli method. just an observation, not a criticism. i question the full auto.
Yet, these liberals think women should be in combat.
I love all of mine, too.
And BTW, this guy should just try me—LOL

Don’t tell that Julie Golob chick. She will shoot your theory full of holes.
Re: New Yorkers Against Gun Violence and Leah Gunn Barrett, et al...
The canard that women are too weak or otherwise unable to handle weapons and specifically handguns for CCW purposes is a steaming pantload!
As a 25 year firearms instructor I will personally attest to the abilities and competence of women where gun handling is concerned...In fact, some of the best shooters I know are female!
I prefer teaching women because they tend to listen and execute better than men, and in general, have not practiced their mistakes for years...
IMHO, I would think Leah Gunn Barrett has her head in rectal defilade if I didn’t recognize this as a deliberate lie for political purposes...
NYAGV = EPIC...FAIL!
A friend of mine once commented on women shooters, saying they didn’t come into it with any preconceived notions about their ability, and actually listened to the instructors. Unlike a lot of guys.
My wife loves and is proficient with her Kimber Compact .45 ACP with a Crimson Trace. Men in her office were bragging about their brand new .25 autos. She snorted, and then told them that they aren’t real guns unless they start with at least a four.
Three if you factor in the Lee Enfield.
