UPDATE, with Donald Trump’s response: “I do not think Megyn Kelly is a quality journalist,” Donald Trump has responded to Fox News chairman/CEO Roger Ailes statement this morning that the GOP White House frontrunner should apologize for his latest Twittertack on FNC star Megyn Kelly.
“I think her questioning of me, despite all of the polls saying I won the debate, was very unfair. Hopefully in the future I will be proven wrong and she will be able to elevate her standards to a level of professionalism that a network such as Fox deserves.”
Saying “I totally disagree” with what Ailes had to say, Trump added/promoted: “I will be in Iowa tonight with my speech being broadcast live on CNN and other networks.”

I have been calling out Kelly for a number of years, she trashed Sarah Palin a number of times, yes she did.
The mag covers, the flattering remarks towards her from the sluts on The View (no I dont watch The View)
The head to toe make up, the spray on tan etc etc
it was clear what she was going to do at that debate, I predicted here at FR prior to the debate. No I am not a genius, it was easy to call

She comes back from vacation, and first part of her show was all trashing Trump and goading her guests into doing the same.

Kelly picked the ugly fight, which was done for pure political theatre, and Trump, in his collected posture, handed it right back to her in spades. SHE ASKED FOR IT, and got it.
IMHO, Ailes is on a short string to the GOPe and God knows who else....
He’s attacking “Roger the RINO”...........
Ailes is going to take every hook that pulls more viewers to his network and more money into his pocket. Put yourself in his place, if you could manufacture a controversy that made you $10,000 by the time the sun sets tonight, wouldn’t you do it? Proportionally Ailes/FNC make much more than that! Trump gets free PR, Fox gets viewers = advertizing dollars.
Remember when Rush called whats-her-name a slut? We all understood that he laughed all the way to the bank despite the “boycott” because the only ones who pulled ads pulled them from local stations not from Rush’s network feed.
You gotta understand the rules if you want to enjoy the game. Trump and Ailes are both enjoying this, and Miss Megyn will be getting her biggest paychecks in years to come because of all the publicity she’s getting amongst people who’d never watch FNC otherwise.

By the end of the day Fox is down another 10%. Trump is up another 5%.
Another smart thing about this is that trump is distancing himself from FOX news. It’s not really true anymore but in the minds of many libs FOX news is biased way to the right. By publicly having a feud with FOX news he’s going to appeal to a certain number of people center or left of center. That’s what he’s doing.
