Just flagging this so that we have an easy point of chronological reference for The Day Fox’s Trump Coverage Changed.
The truce is over.
I liked The Kelly File much better without @megynkelly. Perhaps she could take another eleven day unscheduled vacation!

Roger Ailes allegedly warned Trump two weeks ago that if he didn’t lay off Kelly, he and the network would “go to war.” Well, here you go. War.
It's been 19 days since the debate- @realDonaldTrump has made his feelings clear. But THIS needs to stop http://t.co/8BmVPZTGdp #let-it-go

It’s going to be weird when Hannity hosts his next “Trumpmania! The New American Revolution” special and can’t invite the man himself on to comment. Anyway: Why’d Trump restart this fight? I can think of two explanations and the one you prefer will depend on whether you think Trump operates largely via unthinking ego or wily media savvy. Explanation one: It’s pure hubris. He’s soaring in the polls, he’s (sort of) filling football stadiums with devotees, and he’s the hottest ticket on cable news. He could pick up the phone at any time of day or night and instantly get put on the air on CNN, MSNBC, or Fox. Maybe he figures he’s so bulletproof right now that he can take on Roger Ailes, the most powerful man in conservative media, and win. What’s the worst that can happen? If Fox cuts him off, he’ll spend the next six months doing daily call-ins on CNN and MSNBC about what a loser network full of overrated losers Fox is.
Explanation two: It’s all part of his anti-establishment game. Trump’s core message to Republican voters is that powerful interests, including and especially interests that are ostensibly allied with them on the right like the GOP leadership in Washington, aren’t really looking out for them. On the contrary, those interests routinely sell out the concerns of their base in order to please their wealthy benefactors. Immigration is the ultimate example. A war with Fox will slide easily into that narrative. Apart from a few Trump loyalists like Hannity, he’ll say, Ailes and his network have been bought and sold by the same donor-class losers who are backing Bush and Rubio. They’re an establishment outfit that shouldn’t be patronized by conservatives who want “real change” in Washington. Fox’s leverage against an antagonist like that would normally be to cut him off entirely, but like I say, Trump’s the biggest name in media right now. He doesn’t need Fox to get a TV megaphone. And if Fox takes him on by cutting coverage of Trump way back and unleashing its hosts to excoriate him, it’ll only seem to prove Trump’s point that the network has an anti-populist agenda (with Trump himself being the avatar of populism in this formula). He’ll be frozen out of Fox forever as a guest, in all likelihood, but he’s already lost various media jobs in the course of running for president. What’s one more?
Exit question: How will Ailes play this? I think Inside Cable News is right that it’ll be a “slow play” strategy where Trump’s coverage gets gradually rather than dramatically reduced to make it harder for Trump to claim that he’s being blackballed.
Update: War?

Update: Full-court press from the Foxies:
My friend @realDonaldTrump has captured the imagination of many. Focus on Hillary, Putin, border, jobs, Iran China & leave @megynkelly alone

“yeah. drunken, late night twitter rants is exactly what Im looking for in a president.”
You ought to pay a little more attention if you are going to comment.
Oh, my goodness!
I sure hope he never refers to them as FAUX News!
That would be so very bad.
If he will set tight she will hang herself, will not be able to help it, to full of her self.
Fox News is rapidly turning itself into a poor version of MTV. Gave it up some time ago for those reasons. Right now it seems that Varney is the only one left to listen to but I suppose that when he starts to infringe on the so-called stars that will change. Need OAN soon.
Frankly, Megyn deserved some backlash, just not so much from Trump.
I have not tuned into her all-about-me program since debate night. I admit it, I wish her ratings would fall through the floor. Let the viewers speak and do it. Megyn did her part. I am enjoying doing my little part.
What has FOX done for me this election cycle anyway, but play the Establishment game, particularly against Trump? That debate fiasco was suppose to be the long awaited venue to hear our candidates take care of business without the harassment from the dang Lefty journos’. Instead, the thing was one of the worst ever.
We witnessed sabotage, plain and simple.
Who knows where this leads, but I keep hearing that old sage “Don’t go to war with someone who buys printer’s ink by the train tank carload”.
As someone who will vote for and donate to Cruz in the Primary, but will definitely vote for Trump if he gets the GOP nomination. I think explanation #1 is probably closer to fact.
Don’t really think Trump would enjoy having to share power with even nearly equal branches as POTUS, just not his style. Maybe this re-kindled FNC dustup is his gradual way of bowing out.
You ought to pay a little more attention if you are going to comment.
Tell Fox to stuff it.
There is one in the White House already. Now PsychoTrump is campaigning to get in there too. Look how much time he is spending on Meghan Kelly. There must be something that truly bothers him. Look how much time he spends on meghan. What she asked some questions and He has shown that Meghan first analysis is that Trump is a pig! first Impressions are always the ones that show the true character. Trump is unfit for even being a dog catcher!
Are the tweets from Trump “nice”? No. But, so what? News types insult political candidates on a regular basis. Why is turn-around not fair play? Because it’s never been done before? Because Kelly is a woman? Why can’t FOX - and Kelly - just shrug it off, ignore the tweets, and let them go away?
What I find disturbing is that the whole FOX team, apparently, needs to ride to the rescue of the woman journalist. Good grief, people! Kelly is a smart, apparently independent, woman. Let her deal with the big mean man on her own. If she can’t, then that’s a problem.
Ugh. I just don’t think this looks good.
“yeah. drunken, late night twitter rants is exactly what Im looking for in a president.”
You obviously did not watch the Kelly file last night. After she took a shot across the bow of Donald the wife and I turned off her program.
Because threatening Donald Trump has work so well for others who’ve tried it?
I don't think Trump drinks, so it's a natural talent.
Phew. I can’t imagine, truly...
A President does not have to defend himself against a reporterette. This man is not acting Presidential. If he keeps it up there will be consequences in his numbers.
And the childish (I want my Nana) broad with the blond hair makes some peoples’ little boy parts all tingly. That’s why she has the job.
She is allowed to dish it but can’t take the heat. Poor, crybaby blonde. Grow up!!
Screw the “third party” concept, what we need is a real conservative news network.
To Hell with “Fair and Balanced”...the truth would be balance to the lying RATagandists.
And should someone say this is sleazy, she would cry foul. She brought it all on herself.
