Just flagging this so that we have an easy point of chronological reference for The Day Fox’s Trump Coverage Changed.
The truce is over.
I liked The Kelly File much better without @megynkelly. Perhaps she could take another eleven day unscheduled vacation!

Roger Ailes allegedly warned Trump two weeks ago that if he didn’t lay off Kelly, he and the network would “go to war.” Well, here you go. War.
It's been 19 days since the debate- @realDonaldTrump has made his feelings clear. But THIS needs to stop http://t.co/8BmVPZTGdp #let-it-go

It’s going to be weird when Hannity hosts his next “Trumpmania! The New American Revolution” special and can’t invite the man himself on to comment. Anyway: Why’d Trump restart this fight? I can think of two explanations and the one you prefer will depend on whether you think Trump operates largely via unthinking ego or wily media savvy. Explanation one: It’s pure hubris. He’s soaring in the polls, he’s (sort of) filling football stadiums with devotees, and he’s the hottest ticket on cable news. He could pick up the phone at any time of day or night and instantly get put on the air on CNN, MSNBC, or Fox. Maybe he figures he’s so bulletproof right now that he can take on Roger Ailes, the most powerful man in conservative media, and win. What’s the worst that can happen? If Fox cuts him off, he’ll spend the next six months doing daily call-ins on CNN and MSNBC about what a loser network full of overrated losers Fox is.
Explanation two: It’s all part of his anti-establishment game. Trump’s core message to Republican voters is that powerful interests, including and especially interests that are ostensibly allied with them on the right like the GOP leadership in Washington, aren’t really looking out for them. On the contrary, those interests routinely sell out the concerns of their base in order to please their wealthy benefactors. Immigration is the ultimate example. A war with Fox will slide easily into that narrative. Apart from a few Trump loyalists like Hannity, he’ll say, Ailes and his network have been bought and sold by the same donor-class losers who are backing Bush and Rubio. They’re an establishment outfit that shouldn’t be patronized by conservatives who want “real change” in Washington. Fox’s leverage against an antagonist like that would normally be to cut him off entirely, but like I say, Trump’s the biggest name in media right now. He doesn’t need Fox to get a TV megaphone. And if Fox takes him on by cutting coverage of Trump way back and unleashing its hosts to excoriate him, it’ll only seem to prove Trump’s point that the network has an anti-populist agenda (with Trump himself being the avatar of populism in this formula). He’ll be frozen out of Fox forever as a guest, in all likelihood, but he’s already lost various media jobs in the course of running for president. What’s one more?
Exit question: How will Ailes play this? I think Inside Cable News is right that it’ll be a “slow play” strategy where Trump’s coverage gets gradually rather than dramatically reduced to make it harder for Trump to claim that he’s being blackballed.
Update: War?

Update: Full-court press from the Foxies:
My friend @realDonaldTrump has captured the imagination of many. Focus on Hillary, Putin, border, jobs, Iran China & leave @megynkelly alone

Btw, maybe I misread you. If so I apologize for the harsh comment.
Could you clarify who this refers to below? Thanks.
“I dont think we need anyone who threatens to beat someones brains out running for president where he will have control of nuclear weapons.”
Every issue Trump is involved in is another issue worth discussing. Are journalists or anchors immune from ridicule depending on how they acted or said on TV or radio? If they ARE being unprofessional, why not call them on it. Rush seems to have his fair share of being called unprofessional for things he says. Is Fox news so almighty that their tv hosts are free from criticism?
She certainly knows how to play the games. Any woman who has had to endure the type recognize it.
Always felt that Greta with her professional dress got the shaft when they moved Megyn to evening. Bet she could tell the stories. In fact since she and the Trumps and Palin all support Sumaritan Purse; they may already know the details.
Screw ALL the media - don’t let any of them tell you how to run a campaign. None of them are your “friends”.
That said, Donald should be Donald and the heck with what FOX news wants.
Pretty sure they don’t slip into their trampwear at gunpoint. They are exhibitionists.
“because the childish psychotic dude with the hair makes some people’s girly bits all tingly.”
You make some very good arguments for your candidate.
Yes, we need another Republican President who acts "Presidential" with the media. Like another Bush. Yea, that's the ticket. Just let the uniparty's media machine control the narrative and pick their favorite whipping boy.
Trump is just showing the rest of the party that the media can do more damage if you refuse to fight back. Continue playing by their rules and we will get more of the same.
My name is Christian, so you will have to decide for yourself if that is a female name or not. Pat, in the case of males, is usually short for Patrick, and Pat in the case of females is usually short for Patricia.
As far as uppity goes, Megyn strikes me incredibly stuck up and enthralled with her own self importance, so I refer to her as uppity. She does have some similarities to Nancy Grace in terms of her behavior IMO.
Her guest host that sat in for her over her vacation came off as much more down to earth, and I preferred her to Megyn quite a bit.
Ok, and the nuke comment referred to?
That comment is a reference to Lindsey Graham saying that he would beat trump’s brains out if he shows up in South Carolina.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3328997/posts
To me that seems for more indicative of a psychotic person than Trump’s tweeting that he prefers Megyn Kelly’s show without Megyn Kelly hosting it.
The poster I was talking to has indicated that Trump’s tweets regarding Kelly were an indication that he is psychotic, which I don’t agree with.
RINOS in a snit.GOOD!
You are correct.
lol...I had no idea Lindsey said that. I thought you were referring to Trump. My bad, my apology.
She had two chuckleheads on only to attack him her first night back.
So easily led by the media..
She opened up first by proxy with her guests and smirking gestures on the show; nodding that cute little “who me” thing.
The guy does not drink, he has said so publicly and you damn well know if he did the GOPe and DNC would be all over that pulling people out of the wood work to stab him in the back.
Problem is, those org’s and you are having problems finding the dirt on this guy and when you think you did it turns out objectively you are wrong only you won’t admit to it. Run along GOPe boot licker; you have another donation to make to the RNC so you can grovel at their alter.
To Ailes and his Faux News “journalists”, Trump didnt say a thing wrong in those few tweets. How is saying he enjoyed Kelly’s show better when Shannon Bream subed for her attacking her? How is reposting another tweet that had the word “bimbo” attacking her. Last night on Kelly’s hit piece program her and Charles Stirewalt laughed and joked at Trump’s immigration plan, all the while saying Bush’s war a credible plan. So Ailes and the “fair and balanced asses” that work for him can take a flying leap. Treat Trump with some respect and quit kissing Jeb Bush’s ass and you’ll get along fine with Trump. I don’t blame him one bit for sticking up for himself. He’s the only candidate that does not take garbage off anyone without responding and I love it.
“I wish her ratings would fall through the floor”
Wish I knew what the shows ratings were when the beautiful and classy lady Shannon Bream was subbing for her. I’ll bet more men tuned in.
Absolutely! Did you see that get up she was wearing on Sunday? Yes, she looks good for her age (60+), but that is no license for dressing like a pre-pubescent teen.
And so is O’Reilly when Bream is running the show.
