Gabby Giffords, Mark Kelly: We’re for ‘Gun Responsibility’ Not ‘Gun Control’

On August 20, the Essex News Daily ran a story in which Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords claimed they “actually do not support ‘gun control’ in the traditional sense of the phrase,” but “gun responsibility.”

This comes after they have spent nearly three years supporting new gun trafficking laws, new laws on gun show sales, new laws on internet sales, limits on ammunition magazine capacity, expanded background checks, and gun control ubiquitously under the guise of domestic violence prevention.

Yet they say they are not for gun control.

Let's see Giffords and Kelly refute the wise words from one of the
most famous and honored Democrats of the 20th century:

They don’t support authoritarianism. They support “government enforced social responsibility”.

Oddly enough, when I was taking civics class (do they still have those?) we were given the task of selecting a candidate and showing why we supported him. I choose triple H for some reason. Now 55 years later you post this. Guess I know why I choose him. LOL!

Prove it by incarcerating the CRIMINALS and leave us law abiding citizens alone.

“I’m not a gun guy but I AM an anti-doublespeak, anti-Ministry of Truth guy and this is BS.”

It is what the left is all about in this country. From 1915 on, “Progressives” main ideological stance is that most people are not smart enough to run their own lives, so the “Elite” must do it for them. That is why they believe the Constitution is obsolete and an obstacle.

Their Modus Operandi is “Manufacturing Conscent”, which means the elite make a decision, propagandize and lie to get it passed into law.

It is built into the DNA of the left in this country. They do not believe in informed consent of the governed.

The believe in ruling *against* the will of the people.

So where is the evidence the vast majority of gun owners are not responsible.

I have to congratulate these two at least their words are getting closer to what they actually mean.

Guns can’t be responsible only the people that own the gun can be responsible.

The language unintentionally is moving closer to what they actually mean, People Control.

That’s funny, I’m for “Language Responsibility”.

The Left just loves to come up with new catch phrases for their agenda. When conservatives use their terms like “Dreamers” and “Undocumented workers” we’ve already lost the argument.

Every Pro-2A person I know are also for "Gun Responsibility", at least by the meaning it has now.
This is yet another attempt by the Left to steal an English phrase and make it mean something else.
In this case, rename the increasingly unpopular phrase "Gun Control" to the much nicer and reasonable sounding "Gun Responsibility" that no one can disagree with.
Until you realize good people already practice "Gun Responsibility" while criminals and nutcases don't.
Gun Control by any name is still mainly targeting lawful people. It won't change.

It was years ago that I realized that people like Gifford were really trying to take away my freedoms. It was why I chose the tag noinfringers. I’m glad to see others also place meaning on the term.

Never believe they want “sensible” gun laws. they are working toward an outright ban on ALL guns.
A blast from the past...

Nelson T. ‘Pete’ Shields
Founder of Handgun Control, Inc.

“I’m convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. We’re going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily — given the political realities — going to be very modest.

Of course, it’s true that politicians will then go home and say, ‘This is a great law. The problem is solved.’ And it’s also true that such statements will tend to defuse the gun-control issue for a time.

So then we’ll have to strengthen that law, and then again to strengthen that law, and maybe again and again. Right now, though, we’d be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal — total control of handguns in the United States — is going to take time.

My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country. The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition — except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors — totally illegal.”

-Pete Shields, Chairman and founder, Handgun Control Inc., “A Reporter At Large: Handguns,” The New Yorker, July 26, 1976, 57-58

“Yes, I’m for an outright ban [on handguns].”

-Pete Shields, Chairman emeritus, Handgun Control, Inc., 60 Minutes interview

HCI, around 1984, came out in favor of a ban on semi-auto rifles and shotguns.

Gun responsability is handling your weapon well, taking care of it, making sure it’s stored properly; things like that.
It has nothing to do with infringing rights. This is where dumb lefties get confused.

A responsible gun, there's a new thought. Plays by the rules, in bed tucked in by 10 PM.No worries.Oh, and a responsible gun is never loaded--it could hurt someone.

Mark Kelly is living proof you don't have to be shot in the head to have a brain injury.
