Caitlyn Jenner could face a manslaughter charge following her car accident in Malibu that left one dead.
The case will be submitted to the district attorney next week, Lt. Shaun Mathers of the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department said.
Detectives are set to present evidence to the prosecution that could lead to a misdemeanor manslaughter charge against Jenner. Because theres nothing really egregious in the case, Det. Richard Curry of the L.A. County Sheriffs Dept. said theres a 50/50 chance that she will be charged.
A misdemeanor manslaughter charge usually carries a one-year jail sentence.
More to come.
Absolutely not. Anybody can get momentarily distracted. But texting, applying makeup while driving, driving too close, or speeding are in a different category. Those are all reckless behaviors.
I don’t know the details of this tragedy. I am simply agreeing that sometimes accidents occur. And that they are not always crimes. Jenner is not too popular on FR, for obvious reasons. But assuming his guilt because one don’t like him is not just.
Americans no longer inhabit reality. I don't know how anyone governs that.
I can do those things while paying attention to driving. This POS was playing with their phone which cannot be done safely while driving.
Your response tells me you are okay with this woman’s death. That is sick. Further it is clear you have rear-ended people while screwing around not paying attention while driving. You should be ashamed.
Take a cab so you can play and no I have NEVER caused an accident unlike you.
Bruce going on TV, so soon after the accident was (1) Insensitive to the victim’s family and (2) perhaps a legal strategy.
She was unavoidably hit from behind and is now dead.
Pretty funny, huh?
You can’t do those thing while paying full attention every single second, you are a FOOL who is just another accident waiting to happen.
NO DISTRACTED DRIVING is the LAW in most states...the statutes specifically list eating and drinking as no-nos.
Bruce was distracted by Caitlyn.
He was still a he at the time of the crime, so who knows how that works.
I am assuming nothing and would hold anyone up as guilty; nothing to do with who it is.
I’m glad you had a laugh. :)
A convertible.
You are the one smashing into other cars and justifying another person's death because you do the same things as Jenner.
Sick and sad.
Evasive huh? you have admitted eating and drinking while driving.
The excuse “I can handle it”
What separates you from the many distracted drivers who have had accidents is mere luck.
No one should eat, drink or whatever else while driving, driving is serious business...lives are at stake. I never do anything but drive when I’m behind the wheel...NOTHING.
This may have something to do with the fact that I have never been involved in an accident.
When a serious person drives, they drive and do nothing else.
You have conflicting posts. You are lying in one or the other. If you aren’t too stupid you can figure out which. If you are too stupid ask someone else for help.
You have a problem with honesty and don’t care a woman was killed so go to hell boy.
Another lie.
Who are you, Hillary Clinton?
You gotta have an IQ less than 130.
Nobody smart could argue it’s fine to drink coffee and eat and drive at the same time.
Read the statutes concerning distracted driving...and then follow the law.
I will argue no more with a dim-wit.
BTW: very few Freepers would fault my idea that it’s stupid to drink and eat while driving...it’s common sense.
You continue to think this woman’s death is not a problem. You justify it because of your shortcomings. You are also a liar.
Got it.
There is no Caitlyn.
It’ll come down to whether or not he was driving recklessly. Too fast for the conditions, following too closely for the speed involved etc.
