Donald Trumps immigration plan is huge in every aspect including its price tag.
Think $166 billion. And thats on the low end.
The Republican business mogul is turbocharging his tough-on-illegal-immigration reputation that hes used to ride to the top of the GOP presidential polls by pushing to deport everyone here illegally, ramping up immigration enforcement and even calling for an end to birthright citizenship. Hes managed in the process to pull the GOP field to the right on an issue that could be critical in the general election and cause plenty of heartburn for party bosses still experiencing flashbacks from Mitt Romney damaging call for self-deportation in 2012.
As far as immigrations concerned, we need the wall, Trump said on NBCs Meet the Press Sunday, the same day he unveiled his proposal on his website. We want people to come in. I want people to come in. They have to be wonderful people. They have to come in legally.
But Trump has said little about how much his plan would cost or how hed pay for it, other than a dubious assurance hed make Mexico foot the bill for the wall.
So with help from experts at groups spanning the political spectrum the National Immigration Forum, the Center for American Progress, the Migration Policy Institute, the Cato Institute and the American Action Forum POLITICO rang up the cost of key provisions in Trumps immigration proposal. Heres how it breaks down.

A better than 3:1 return on an investment within one year? WOW!! LET’S DO IT! Time is wasting!
That is a ONE-TIME cost and has a payback of less than 4 months when compared to the net cost of “only” 11,000,000 illegal aliens. These 11,000,000 are have an estimated net cost to the US of $600,000,000,000 per year. That is 600 BILLION DOLLARS boys and girls. That is enough to easily balance the budget or pay for ALL of the national defense budget.
A one time cost of $166 Billion vs an annual savings of $600 Billion? I’ll take that deal every day and twice on Sunday. The Donald is a brilliant businessman, there is no doubt and this just proves that he is.
If it saves the life of just one child, it will be worth it.
If we don’t deport ALL illegals the USA is done
I don’t believe it would cost that! That is a lie.
And illegals are costing annually: This report (2013) estimates the annual costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local level to be about $113 billion; nearly $29 billion at the federal level and $84 billion at the state and local level.
Yeah, amazing isn’t it?
Would be curious what the outflow of Western Unions to Latin America and Asia is per annum
Hey. Politico is finally interested in how much a government program costs.
Subtract what illegals are costing in healthcare, education and social services.
Add the job openings as a result of illegals being deported or self-deportated.
The ole ‘jobs Americans won’t do’ has been proved to be false. Americans will do those jobs and many already are doing the same kinds of jobs.
make Mexico foot the tab
After the first few shots, they’d be runnin’ for the border. No need to fling ‘em across. Phil Collins had a song “It’s No Fun (Being an Illegal Alien)” ... we need to make that a reality.
Yes, the 100 Billion $ question! Let’s get er done.
So what?? Stop funding all the liberal CRAP government has no business funding in the first place and do it. It’s a worthwhile step toward making America great again!
I love it when a plan comes together!
Turn off their benefits - just turn them all off and they’ll self deport.
What, that’s the equivalent of just a handful of Obama family vacations...
With all be manpower and infrastructure already in place the cost should be less than half perhaps one third of that number. Also remember there is no emergency time frame with this action, which is a huge cost of doing business. A lot of these people will be caught up accidentally through traffic stops, housing applications, attempts to sneak across the border etc. and these will cost virtually nothing to apprehend ,process and deport.
Now that’s a tax increase I could support.
If those buzzards don’t leave, how much does it cost for U.S. Marines, with bayonets, to defend their country?
