Scott Walker has sought to reassure jittery donors and other supporters this week that he can turn around a swift decline in the polls in Iowa and elsewhere by going on the attack and emphasizing his conservatism on key issues.
In a conference call, one-on-one conversations and at a Tuesday lunch, the Wisconsin governor and favorite of anti-union conservatives told backers that his campaign is shifting to a more aggressive posture and will seek to tap into the anti-establishment fervor fueling the rise of Donald Trump and other outsider candidates.
During a conference call with top fundraisers Monday afternoon, Walker and his campaign manager were relatively candid in their assessment of the campaigns shortcomings, according to notes of the conversation taken by a participant. Walker said the campaign will strive to do better in three areas: protest, passion and policy.

Bad news from Walker.
All candidates need to be vetted including Trump. He can take the heat, don’t ya think?
“...and will seek to tap into the anti-establishment fervor fueling the rise of Donald Trump and other outsider candidates.”
I guess he has nothing to lose at this point - and it would be a miracle if he can convince voters that the #2 ESTABLISHMENT candidate is now, somehow, “anti-establishment”.
I think he hired some incompetent campaign managers 9makes one wonder about his abilities in some areas) and then took bad advice and is now painted into a corner and becoming invisible.
Too bad - he has some good qualities and I was hoping he'd stick around for a while.
GO CRUZ!!!
That’s his role in this race, to be the GOPe’s “conservative alternative”. Almost as funny as their serving up Rubio as another “conservative alternative”.
BTW, here’s a good graph of what happens when a Bush is president. See how the number of registered Republicans plummeted as the years went on with both Bush I and Bush II?

Given where the GOP is now, the party would be down to a rounding error were Jeb to somehow make it in.
A little too late.
Yes sir, you either have it or you don't, and Walker doesn't, he needs to see which way the wind is blowing before acting. And if he where to win, he would likely betray all those who supported him.
Walker assures supporters in conference call and at luncheon that his campaign is going to buckle down to regain place in polls.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this wisconsin interest ping list.
Trump is the me-too candidate. He was for single pay health care before he became a candidate. Walker was ignored by the media until he began to drop in the polls. Those that live by the polls die by the polls. Trump reminds everyone he is first every time he opens his mouth. he was for a lot of liberal stuff before he was against them.
All we needed to know about Scott Walker was evident since February when he refused to back up Rudy Guliani in questioning Obamas love of country. He wasn’t even as bold as a man who was a mayor claiming something that is so obvious. NO GUTS, NO GLORY.
Walker is OK
He did some great things in his state
Especially taking down the unions.
But it is not translating to “Presidential”
So were a lot us, including yours truly, but I grew up as a person.
I rolled up my sleeves and sought answers to the real causes for America's troubles. I threw the Kool-Aid in the dirt and started seeking out real information instead of liberal indoctrination. I became better informed, and it made a better person of me.
Millions have followed the same path, as has Donald Trump.
Trump has.
I agree. I also believe we’d do better by concentrating on real issues vs. people having contests to piss off a few. I want the damn Muslims thrown out of America as our founding fathers knew what they were like due to the kidnappings and slavery of Europeans by the Muslims on the Ocean.
History is not calling you Mr Walker.
Thanks for your good work but this is not your time.
Yes.
The donor pulls the string; the candidate does the dance.
