Marco is an albatross to this country.
“Donald Trump’s call to end so-called birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants,...”
Trump is right, “A country with no borders, no laws and does not care for its own is not a country.”
I am, like never before in my life, for term limits on these fools. The Teddy Kennedy’s, the ones in our party, they need to go.
Secret message to Marco: Besa mi culo, pendejo.
Wasn’t Rubio only elected in the first place because of strong Tea Party support? Looks like they backed a con artist, unfortunately.
You have to interpret it correctly...and it was NOT intended to confirm citizenship on children born here of illegals.
Trump is smoking em out.
Incoherent. You're for it or against it.
For me, saying that the parent should at least be in the country legally is a pretty low bar. Saying at least one parent should be a green card holder is also not that high a bar. Saying at least one parent should be a citizen is still not unreasonable.
If you don't like the simplicity of Trump's plan, then propose something.
This is the reason Marco Rubio is polling in the low single digits. Had he NOT gotten involved in the gang of eight and if he had held firm with enforcement and a fence, he would be much higher in the polls.
Guess he’s afraid anchor babies won’t be able to be president. Why should we be the only gullible country that lets people come in and drop babies so they can later bring their entire families into the USA?
Most countries do not allow such a thing. The 14th Amendment was written to give citizenship to slaves brought here against their will, not squatters who break our laws and then dare us to do anything about it. Taxpayers pay for their comfort and their children’s welfare and education all the way through college now. What chumps we are.
Birthright citizenship of children whose parents are foreigners is a MIS-interpretation of the 14th.
Rubio wants to continue that mis-interpretation. So does just about every news commentator, including the usually sane Judge Napolitano on FOX.
I don't think he is. Cubans have a special status. His parents didn't come here illegally, and they were already citizens when he was born.

The 13th, 14th and 15th amendments had very specific purposes. No reasonable interpretation of the 14th would lead one to conclude that even the radical northern reconstructionists intended to make our country a nest for the cowbirds of central America and Mexico, and the rest of the world for that matter.
“I’m open to doing things that prevent people who deliberately come to the U.S. for purposes of taking advantage of the 14th Amendment.” Marco Rubio
As long as “doing things” doesn’t require doing anything that might actually change the way things are now: the USA is one big nest for the cowbirds of the world; that is, if you can waddle across the airport/San Ysidro/Arizona border and drop your egg (at our expense), voila—it’s American.
The 14th Amendment says people born in the US ***AND SUBJECT TO TO THE JURISDICTION THEREOF*** are citizens.
This was to make citizens of the freed slaves after the Civil War.
You could go read this for yourself - but that would be hard.
Instead I want you to take your smug, holier than glow and call me a racist.
PING
I read the transcript of a Trump interview and (IIRC) he said the anchor babies could stay, but the family members who came illegally had to go back. The decision would be made by the family if they wanted to go back as a family or leave the children/citizens here. It would be up to the family. But, bottom line, the illegals had to return to wherever they came from.
I learn something new on FR everyday. Now I am an anchor baby because my parents were legal permanent residents on a path to citizenship when I was born? God some of the idiocy on here just get's worse and worse.
