Donald Trump holds a big lead among Arizona Republican voters in a new poll as the outsiders and business members of the race for the presidential nod seem to be impressing state voters.
The poll was conducted by Mike Nobles MBQF, a public affairs firm in Phoenix.
Trump garnered 28 percent of the support in the poll, up from 26.5 percent in a late July poll. Two other outsiders, surgeon Ben Carson and former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina are next with 15.2 percent and 10.4 percent, respectively. They both gained ground in the poll after the first GOP primary debate on Fox News.

Cute... but meaningful..
Bad news for McCain, every Trump voter is going to vote against him, add to that every Ted Cruz voter and Mc Cain is in real trouble. I would say its time to get a terrific candidate to run against Mc Cain.
Keep hoping. Hope springs eternal!
I used to own a home in AZ. The immigration issue is very big. AZ has been battling the federal government to enforce the laws and to secure the border. The fights have gone to SCOTUS.
I suspect the economy and the markets are going to take 2008 type hits in the second half of year.
If that comes to pass, Trump will pull away never to be caught ever again.
Next year should be even worse and against the democrats Trump will pound away his message and win. People will be so scared dems, indies, pubs that they will vote Trump.
In 2008, we had a massive housing bubble created by sub-prime mortgages.
Where's the bubble now?
I saw that. Wasn't certain exactly what happened. Looked like some of the Apaches weren't interested in being part of McCain photo op.
Surely it's time for Arizona to retire him. I think he's a goner unless mischief making crossover independent voters save him in the primary.
I guess you crazies aren’t too impressed with Lindsey Graham, whom McCain said you should support.
Uhhh....the first horse off the blocks was Jeb.
Too bad Cruz didn’t get more time on the debate.
Your wrong-headed anti-Trumpism is duly noted, but for now, you appear to have very poor predictive skills. Trump leads in the STATE races by huge margins, and last time I looked, that’s where the delegates came from.
I see it.. and agree he could WIN... i.e. Trump..
Reagan didn’t “take off: until close to the convention..
It’s true many conservatives are bamboozled.. I’m not blind..
The facts remain: Trump is UNTESTED, UNPROVEN, UNCONFIRMED ..
Even as a conservative let alone as a republican..
A MYSTERY MAN.. Thats some good Snake Oil(he’s got) many buyers..
It’s mostly TRUMPoHOL though.. makes you FEEL GOOD..
CANNOT cure a conniving treasonous heart.. i.e. democrats and rinos..
OUTRAGE causes people to do silly things.. i.e. vote for TRUMP..
BE different if “WE” didn’t have Ted Cruz.. but alas we DO..
How would Trump get things thru Congress?.. by making DEALS...
DUH!.. Which IS the current situation and PROBLEM..
Basically whats WRONG WITH Congress.. is deal makeing bribery, this for that, negotiations to water ANYTHING and EVERYTHING Down..
Trump has no problem with watered down legislation it’s the DEAL that counts..
EVERY single democrat operates like that in Congress DAILY and many republicans..
Trump is no FIXER... he will continue the PROBLEMS.. UNLESS he makes them WORSE...
How could they get WORSE?.. Good question?..
TRUMP operating exactly as Obama did and does.. Unconstitutionally.. bypassing Congress..
He knows how to deal with a corrupt Congress being himself CORRUPT.. i.e. crony capitalist..
Ted Cruz would DO much of what Trump suggests EXCEPT by restoring the Constitution..
I hadn’t heard that story.
Secretariat.
I am looking at the commodity prices, lumber and oil prices. An expanding economy has these prices rising not falling. Never ever has an economy expanded with declining commodity prices.
The stock markets around the world are ALL collapsing. No exception.
The last one to go will be the US stock market.
The average GDP to date is .8% which is recession country. The participation rate is the lowest it’s been in 40 years. Food stamp recipients are rising not falling.
The GDP was forecasted to .7% in q3 but adjusted upward to 1.3% because banks are making subprime loans again and drowning in them. We do not know if that is the real figure until it is adjusted again to the real number.
“The Atlanta Fed just increased its forecast for Q3 GDP from +0.7% to +1.3% - though this is still less than half consensus estimates. The driver of this ‘almost doubling’ was due to a 15.3% increase in seasonally adjusted motor vehicle assemblies in July stuffing inventories even fuller. Of course, as we previously noted, this is entirely unsustainable and we await the mean-reversion in August and September.”
With respect to real estate:
“In a flat market, real estate transaction costs are prohibitively expensive. Commissions, closing fees, loan fees, mortgage insurance, transfer taxes and recording fees can easily add up to 8% or more, depending on where you live. Add a few trips to Home Depot or Ikea and the out of pocket expense of a move can be over 10%.
In the coming year, or years, many home owners are going to find that they do not have the equity to pay for a move. At a low or no appreciation rate, it will take years to build up enough equity just to break even. Some who financed their purchases in recent years with low down payment programs will have to incur out of pocket expenses in order to sell. Others may find that their existing homes have not appreciated enough to offset the expenses, providing little down payment and incentive for the trade-up.”

Basically the big ticket items like cars and real estate are going subprime to the max. Seems right before we had the collapse in 2008 people were drowning in subprime.
Frankly Lindsey needs to be more honest and forthcoming.
Put a wig, a dress and some heels on that guy and he would be a real looker. Might help his poll numbers.
2) In a number of threads, which I will repeat if necessary, Cruz woul not be able to accomplish much, if anything. If anyone is a feel-good candidate it is Cruz: right on all issues but without a hope of changing anything. He lacks Trump's celebrity appeal that is the only way he will be able to go around the GOP establishment (assuming we hold the House and Senate).
Temperamentally he's a "within the system guy" which is perfect---if the system still works. It doesn't. It's horribly broken and needs a different approach.
Problem is mainstream America is not voting for Cruz...this time. Best to get Donald in, tear it up, and pave the way for Cruz or someone else like him. Cruz is too young.
Actually, that's exactly what Trump is. That's how he got so rich.
And look at the way he has completely taken over the campaign and the media.
I have watched him for over 35 years as a former NYer. He may appear to bluster, but he's very strategic. He's a very crafty fighter.
Look at how he has gained the high ground with immigration. Even Cruz is looking weak, Kasich looks pro-immigration, and, for Jeb, it's a "love" thing.
This is part of a strategy.
Within the next month, he will have crafted a tax plan that will be endorsed by Steve Forbes, Art Laffer, and Steve Moore (of the Heritage Foundation).
No one else will even have a tax plan.
He has to keep the roller coaster on the downhill stretch for 5 months with nothing happening then have it at peak for Iowa and beyond.

John McCain Visited The Navajo Nation. He Left With A Pack Of Furious People Chasing Him
en. John McCain received a less than cordial welcome on Friday during a visit to the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona, which ended with protesters appearing to literally chase him off the reservation.
The senator, along with Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, went to the tribal land to participate in a celebration honoring WWIIs Navajo Code Talkers and speak with other tribal and community leaders. However, protesters at both locations the senator and governor went sought to disrupt the visit.
The primary reason why there was such a strong resistance to McCains presence was because of the issues were facing around water rights, Kim Smith, one of the protesters, told the Phoenix New Times. As young people, were realizing that if we do not stand up for our water, we will be left with none.
Protesters chanted Water is life in their native language and waved signs reading McCain = Indian Killer and McCains not welcome here.
Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye raised the issue of the EPA-triggered mine spill in neighboring Colorado, which sent 3 million gallons of toxic sludge into the Animas and San Juan Rivers. The EPA temporarily banned the waters use downstream, which included the Navajo Nation.
Water from the San Juan river is a lifeline to the reservation, where it is used for farming and ranching.
I keep saying when are we going to hear from the White House? Not a word. When somebody wins the Super Bowl or an NBA Championship, they get a call, right? And when something like this happens and people are suffering, nothing, President Begaye said according to Native News.
The president told McCain that the federal government should create a 90 day supply of potable water for residents to have and assistance in drilling more wells or potentially piping healthy water in from the Colorado River.
Grabbing a plastic bottle of water, President Begaye said Navajo EPA collected water from the river and that after an hour of no movement, the water cleared. He then shook the bottle and said the yellow color returned when they shook the water sample, Native News reports.
Navajo Vice President Jonathan Nez said that his people have a natural distrust of the federal government and stated that the EPA never apologized to them for contaminating their water.
Beyond the contamination of the Animas and San Juan Rivers, the protesters are upset with McCain regarding Water Rights Settlement legislation, which McCain and former Senator Jon Kyl introduced in 2012. It would have required the Navajo and Hopi tribes to waive their water rights to the Navajo aquifer for time immemorial in exchange for infrastructure that would pipe clean water into three remote areas of the reservation. Many in the Navajo and Hopi communities disapproved of the proposal, according to the Phoenix New Times.
During McCains second stop on the reservation Friday at Navajo Nation Museum at Window Rock, more than a dozen protesters positioned themselves outside the room in which he was meeting with Navajo leaders. Some sat in a circle singing a native songs, as police stood guard barring them from entering the room. When the protesters discovered the senator just left through a rear entrance, they raced to the front entrance, but were temporarily barred from exiting by police. After they broke through, more officers met them outside, blocking their advance long enough for the senator and governor to leave.
In the video, one protester can be heard calling out: Who do you protect? Who do you serve?
A group of them took off after the senators motorcade, screaming things like: Get out of here! Get the hell off our land!
McCains office issued a statement countering the notion that he had been chased off of the Navajo reservation.
Senator McCain was honored to be invited by the Navajo Nation to meet with tribal and community leaders and to speak at the celebration of the Navajo Code Talkers on Friday. It was a great visit and he received a very warm reception from the Navajo community in Window Rock.
He certainly wasnt chased off the reservation this small group of young protesters had no practical impact on his productive meetings with top tribal leaders on a range of key issues, including the EPAs recent Gold King Mine spill which threatens to contaminate the Navajo Nations water supply.
