Donald Trump went back and forth with NBC host Chuck Todd on Sunday in one of his most combative interviews since announcing his presidential candidacy earlier this summer.
In a 37-minute conversation on "Meet The Press," Todd pushed Trump on a wide range of issues with which the real-estate magnate would presumably be confronted if he won the presidency in 2016. It forced Trump to be on the defensive on everything from his college record, to outsourcing, to the US role in NATO.

Just for context.
It’s actually a good thing that Trump goes on these shows, as much as I detest the liberal media. It gives him a feel of how they are going to be gunning for him in future debates.
A few years ago Todd used to identify himself on air as “F. Chuck Todd” ... probably to add “gravitas” to his reporting; now he doesn’t use that line, but Rush remembers because the “F Chuck Todd” sounded puffed up and self-important, and Rush is mocking him.
Trump can’t, Congress can’t. Of themselves.
This is a “We The People” thing. If Trump can help “We The People” believe that they can, then they probably are right.
That’s what populist means.
Might be a double entendre too (eff Chuck Todd)
Now, I saw the interview. I'm struggling to think of exactly where Trump was "defensive" or for that matter, where F. Upchuck Todd even pushed him or asked a "difficult" question.
Honestly thought Trump did pretty well for the most part. A few rambling answers but I attribute that to not being a professional politician.
In the grand scheme of things, Trump did well in my book and frankly,I liked much of what he said.
Now, I've either completely disconnected from reality, or some Trump fans are just way too sensitive. Not sure which at this point......
What part was a hit piece? Dang, Trump did well I thought. Seemed to be one of his better, more thoughtful interviews.
Yeah, what he said.
Fair interview....agree totally...could care less if Todd is a lib...He asked important questions unlike Megyn DingleBarry.....I am all for Trump being grilled with serious questions...He did just fine....Affirmative action is crap for me....Trump doesn’t mind it...he is a 1% ‘er..I have no problem with that....i get that...but i don’t agree 100% with anyone! Good interview imo.
The news article a hit piece. I think that is what is meant.
Well that's an easy one.
A President that is against affirmative action directs his or her Justice Department along with other agencies to argue against it in court when a case comes up that they can impact - whether that be joining specific lawsuits or writing friend of the court briefs opposing affirmative action.
As to EDNA, that isn't law. It is proposed legislation that every conservative I know of opposes. Maybe Kasich is for it, but none of the others. This is a particularly repulsive proposal that would strip employers of 15 or more employees from "discriminating" against gay/lesbian/trans/name your deviancy in the workplace. Basically it would mean traditional, religious companies couldn't terminate even the most obnoxious homosexuals without risk of lawsuits.
I'm more of a Cruz guy and he is rising. Trump has peaked. He has total name recognition and all of the press (good or bad) and still can't move up.
How 'bout a 3rd explanation...........
the media distorts, manipulates, obfuscates and fabricates.
Yep, I agree.
Trump did fine, imho.
Agree. (And I'm not a Trump fan.) I thought Trump came off as thougtful and I'm starting to look at him in a different light. That interview was NOT "The Donald Trump Show." That interview was Trump demonstrating a grasp of the issues and honestly, I think he's just now really starting to connect with the electorate.
Trump came off as sincere in my book -- and I've been pretty hard in my criticism of him. Up to now I haven't thought of him as a serious candidate or one that would even make it to the Iowa caucus' truth be told. If he handles the rest of the media as well as he did F. Upchuck Todd today I'd say he's got as good a chance as anyone to make it to, and past Iowa.
Just my .02 as a somewhat still disinterested observer.
Ah. Ok. Missed that....
Reminds me of the time #ChuckTodd ripped obozo a new one back in ‘08...oh...wait...
It is amazing to consider that Trump has even at this point taken more heat than obozo did in two races and six years of the presidency.
Switch it Todd - and you'll see what an overbearing jerk you are with people who don't see the world exactly the way you do.
Of course the media does that.
I was really hoping I was disconnecting from reality ... because let's face it: reality sucks.
