(CNN) —The Iowa State Fair won't allow Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to give kids free rides on his helicopter on fairgrounds, but the real estate developer has secured a nearby location.
The helicopter will take off from a parking lot outside the fair in Des Moines, campaign state chairman Chuck Laudner told CNN on Friday, adding that Trump may hop on a few rides as well.
CNN previously reported that the Sikorsky is one of three that he owns, seats 12 people comfortably, including the pilot.

Iowa has 3 million people and draws 1 million to a relatively compact fairgrounds. Nothing like it. And in a hot election campaign year, candidates are everywhere.
Minnesota is around 5.5 million with 1.7 or so million in a compact fairgrounds, though it’s very urban compared to Iowa.
Unanticipated stuff, like running into baseball great Jack Morris quietly grooming his draft horses for the show ring.
Wisconsin has a lot of that same flavor, as does Ohio, but not quite like those two. Skip the midway and typical food stuff. The real attraction is the people watching.
And Ted Cruz could show them how to fry bacon with an automatic weapon.
He could have a BBQ. He could grill “Trump Skeaks”. As well as, he could grill cocktail wienies in honor of Jeb Bush.
Hehehehehehe! Some of us predicted he’d figure out a way around the situation....DAMN! We NEED this person in DC!

Good idea. Trying to outdo the Trumpster could really make this the best Fair Iowa has ever seen.
Every time the helicopter flies near ( probably can not fly directly over crowd). There will be a thunderous sound coming from the air. TRUMPetting his presence. All those selfies and picture souvenir what a treat for We THE PEOPLE!
The Iowa governor (of either party) officially heads the State Fair Board because some bigwig is always trying to bust in at the last minute, but once summer starts it’s just logistics and the state fair manager is really in charge, but major space allocation is a long done deal.
It was easy to see that someone with nearby real estate would help out Trump, or anyone else with money and some big idea.

I saw it. It’s out on twitter and none of the tweets are from the official Trump org,,so someone brought it out.
I hear Trump has done stuff like this many times over the decades. Add that to the many, MANY times he has supported Vets without any fanfare of press conferences,,,
very important and very special.
Just a week ago someone on FR laughed at me when I suggested Trump would find a way. And he has, of course. He’s very canny, I’ll say that for him.
That’s just a boneheaded stupid statement.
