The Ohio governor is surging in New Hampshire, and the Bush world is showing signs its nervous.
Theres a fresh face in New Hampshire and his name is John Kasich.
The Ohio governor is no political newbie, having first made his way into national politics in the early 1980s as a freshman congressman, but he was a late entrant to the 2016 Republican race with limited name recognition and plenty of ground to make up against Jeb Bush, whose establishment lane Kasich has been trying to horn in on.
Kasichs campaign manager John Weaver told POLITICO he received two calls from New Hampshire journalists who claimed they had received opposition research from the Bush camp, though Bush aides rejected the suggestion, saying theyre not shopping any anti-Kasich material.
To some New Hampshire Republicans, Kasich represents the antidote to qualms about Bush. Its no accident that in its first ad last month, Kasichs super PAC, New Day for America, emphasized his fathers work as a local mailman a stark contrast to Bushs silver-spoon upbringing as the son of a president. That 60-second spot, which featured a straight-to-camera testimonial from Kasich, has largely been lauded by New Hampshire political operatives as a smart introduction, displaying the notoriously hot-headed Kasichs comforting side, but also touting his experience as an influential Congressman and governor.

Establishment wins the game either way. They have half a dozen Jebs running as a safety.
So, the GOPe using Polutico to announce their waiting-in-the-wings replacement for ¿Yeb!.
I think the DNC and Rove won’t have any problem switching to Kasich if need be, or any of several others. Probably not Graham, though. That would be terminally silly.
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
How does Kasich feel about Common Core? I already presume he’s soft on the border. This election go round, every one of the 17 candidates is similarily ‘soft on the border’. That’s the only flavor being served.
They’re fighting for the less than 25% of the vote that’s been supporting the Republican backstabbing elite? wow
All other considerations aside, I’ve seen Kasich’s mug, and “fresh face” isn’t really a term that leaps to mind.
A fight to the death to see who is the most non threatening, joyful, lovable, happy Old White Guy.
After all, we all know that the dems and the media are correct to stereotype white people as mean, hateful, vengeful, greedy, racists.
So it is just fine that Jebby and Johnny would spend all their political capital proving that they are not with that icky nasty tea party nazi white supremacist crowd.
The K is soft on everything.
Dweeb versus Dweeb.
Kasich is just simply a better RINO than Jeb is.
Another RINO squish.
Next.
His dad was a mailman wasn’t he?
Trying to get everyone excited about who will place 3rd or 4th.
The man is a fraud to the core.
Small feat for the Obamacare drone.
It is a ‘no, never mind’ as the purpose is to attract voters from conservative candidates and later transfer the electoral votes to Jeb Bush.
