MARK CUBAN: I want to be a Republican — but the party has one big problem
The Business Insider ^ | 8/12 | Colin Campbell

Posted on 08/12/2015 8:13:11 AM PDT by TangledUpInBlue

In a Tuesday post on his Cyber Dust social media app, the outspoken billionaire investor wrote that he would prefer to join the GOP but has an issue with the party's push for conformity.

"Put aside that I disagree with Republicans on most social issues. The Republicans have a much bigger problem that will crush them in every Presidential election until this changes."

Cuban lamented that those who disagree with the "Consensus" are labeled as fake Republicans.

"The Republican Party requires that all their Presidential candidates Conform to Consensus. If you don't agree with every platform of the party not only are you called a RINO, a 'Republican in Name Only.' You are considered unelectable in primaries and become a source of scorn on Fox News. That's a problem," he said.

Leadership creates followship. That was President Reagan's secret.

Precisely. Most people who voted for Reagan didn't necessarily agree with Supply-Side economics, they just saw him as a good leader.

As much as we here hate to admit it, dogma is overrated.

Ironically, President Sanders will never GET 90% of Mark Cuban’s billions. He won’t have any “income” or he will move his residency offshore.

The socialists never hurt the rich because any socialist in power IS getting rich off the peons.

and the Democratic party is any different how? Name one Democrat that is pro life that is running or has run for president recently? Name one Democrat that from this point on will not be pro sodomite! Name one Democrat running for president that will support cuts to social security? The list goes on and on. The Democrats are no different, the difference is YOU Mark Cuban agree with them on all those issues so you dont see a problem with them demanding conformity on them! Now you want to come over to the Republican party and demand conformity on those issues on our side as well!

No thanks! you can take your mentally ill sodomites, welfare leeches and illegal aliens and stick em where the sun dont shine Mark Cuban!

Rich people love socialism, because it blocks their competition. They already got theirs’.

Conservatism, is for people who want to eventually become rich.

And they never will. Abortion is the law of the land and a political red herring.

Mark is like the Californians who flee California and then try to impose the same policies on their new residence that made them flee California in the first place.

I agree with Cuban. I’m Buddhist...I support small government, limited government, Bill of Rights, American Exceptionalism, English Language only, and the supremacy of our form of government. But, not being Christian makes me a outsider and not welcomed...oh well.

Not very observant, is he? Who is really on a massive push for conformity? It is the Left, Marky. You will conform to their ideals or be destroyed, one way or another. It is what this PC mania is all about.

The real problem is we’ve got two parties that seem “left of center.”

The specific problem with the GOP is the party leadership is trying to set the party “values” and policies in direct opposition to the majority of the party’s base.

Most of those who have traditionally identified as Republicans do not support Amnesty yet the party elite are trying to ram it down our throats.

Leadership (yikes but I can’t find a better verb here) trumps ideology.

The only reason I am a republican is that the crazy’s in the republican party don’t scare me as much as the crazy’s in the democratic party...

The GOP progressives are less likely to push us into the ovens than the Democratic Party progressives.

Well if the RINOs didn't keep winning primaries and losing elections, he might have a point about them being unelectable in primaries even though they have the best chance to win the election.

So true Mr. Cuban, just look what they did to one of the vice presidential nominees, Senator Joe Lieberman, why they ostracized him something terrible, effectively tossing him from the Democrat Party....

oops

I guess his role as POTUS in Sharknado 3 has really got him thinking seriously about politics.

This guy, Cuban, knows he’s going to get wiped out in the bubble that is Silicon Valley IMO.

And what do investors do but try to save themselves, often by making bubbles bigger so they can sell and make a profit. But don’t you know, they generally can’t just leave it at that and walk away, because that would mean they might Miss Out.

I think this guy is part of a really bad problem that might just take down the world’s financial system. He’s presiding to some degree over a full scale apocalypse in the making. Why in the HELL would I ever consider voting for him?!
