Nolte: "Trump Open To Continuing Taxpayer Funding Of PP" ?
Breitbart ^ | August 11, 2015 | John Nolte

8/11/15 John Nolte

During an interview with CNN Tuesday morning, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump stated that he was open to the idea of continuing to fund Planned Parenthood with federal tax dollars.

“The problem that I have with Planned Parenthood is the abortion situation. It is like an abortion factory, frankly,” Trump said. “And you can’t have it. And you just shouldn’t be funding it. That should not be funded by the government, and I feel strongly about that.”

... But certainly the abortion aspect of it should not be funded by government, absolutely.”

Breitbart News Editor-In-Chief Alex Marlow reacted to Buzzfeed’s allegations that GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump gave Breitbart money to report favorably on him by stating that the story is “totally bogus”

"Every one keeps talking about Jeb, how about Ted Cruz?"

Cruz needs to show us that he has fangs and claws. Talk is cheap.

Ted Cruz has been calling for the defunding of PPP all along. His position has been clear and unwavering.

"Cruz needs to show us that he has fangs and claws. Talk is cheap."

Familiarizing yourself with Cruz's history would prove illuminating to you.

He's been using his teeth and claws---along with his brain---to fight since his days as Solicitor General of Texas. That fighting only intensified once he got to Washington. He's been taking on the GOP since he arrived---almost always alone.

I thought Freepers knew about all of this.

That's not what I said. The point was he was easily roped into talking/agreeing about funding Planned Parenthood's other activities - WHICH WE ALREADY DO. Money is fungible. Any money that goes to Planned Parenthood supports aborting babies. Period.

Trump simply doesn't understand the issues because he is a not an ideological conservative that has really debated and thought about these things.

The last point, I think sadly is true. The cult of personality that is Donald Trump is allowing him to take liberal position such as (now he's criticizing Bush of all people for not spending enough Federal dollars on "womens health care"), saying that single payer socialized health care in Canada works great, that in Scotland it works really terrific, etc, etc, and getting away with it because people are "angry".

So people are angry and their answer is to support an anti-intellectual populist? That is more or less where we are at.

This Trump thing isn't going to end well. It's really not. The guy will not be the nominee, but there may just be enough butthurt Trumpsters willing to sit out or write in his name to help the Democrats keep the White House. We've seen this nonsense before with Perot gifting Clinton the White House with only 43% of the vote.

The writer is twisting Trump’s words. Trump clearly says he opposes funding abortion. Whether PP could misuse funds to continue funding abortions would be a matter to be handled through the law.

The only way to do that is complete defunding by the federal government. any thing else allows to shift the funds.

Perhaps Sen. Cruz needs a "reality" TV show. Or maybe he could start adopting multiple positions on any given issue.

IMO Cruz has already established his anti-GOPe bona fides.

Trump is merely the lead blocker while Cruz is carrying the ball.

I hope/ pray you are correct, but I see him as to much of an ego manic to ever step away. He is an attention whore and this is feeding his addiction.

I believe he truly is running out of love of country and a genuine concern about where it’s headed.

You can argue about his stances on issues, but I do not question his motives for running.

“You do realize that you have jsut put shrillary into office”

Hey verga - stuff it.

Not only will I myself vote for Trump if he goes Independent, but I’m advocating it. Him and Cruz flip Rove the bird, join forces in a separate party. Sorry, but the GOP is, and have been for a long time, spineless, pantywaist, losers.

And try to find a new schtick, would ya? The “...it’s a vote for (Hillary/0bama)” crap is getting awfully old.

Not if laws and budgets are written correctly. The Republicans blocked funds for Obama to close Gitmo. Ever heard of the Hyde amendment?

Funds to close Gitmo blocked

It's the congressional power of the purse the Republicans have made far too little use of during the Obama administrations.

Americans have waited for a candidate like Trump for years. Trump will clean the floor with Hillary.

Trump is mittens with billions instead of millions. He is on both sides of every issue. Just consider an alternative such as Ted Cruz.

If you read his comments he said shut down PP over the baby parts selling. I take that to mean if they aren’t in the abortion biz he wouldn’t deny funding. I think that’s a fair reading, but one that I’m sure won’t satisfy you.

I didn't know I was missing any rights that need funding

That is the reality. When Planned Parenthood no longer provides abortions and profits from their sick priorities, they'll become irrelevant and disappear.

That requires a spine. It is easy for them to block Gitmo, it requires both Balls and a spine to defund PP, and the RINO's lack both.

I just wonder a little how far you will contort yourself to find an excuse to explain every Trump position. I do predict that at some point in the future, he will go a bridge too far for even yourself.

Cruz or Lose!
