Nolte: "Trump Open To Continuing Taxpayer Funding Of PP" ?
Breitbart ^ | August 11, 2015 | John Nolte

8/11/15 John Nolte

During an interview with CNN Tuesday morning, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump stated that he was open to the idea of continuing to fund Planned Parenthood with federal tax dollars.

“The problem that I have with Planned Parenthood is the abortion situation. It is like an abortion factory, frankly,” Trump said. “And you can’t have it. And you just shouldn’t be funding it. That should not be funded by the government, and I feel strongly about that.”

... But certainly the abortion aspect of it should not be funded by government, absolutely.”

No Shite! that is what I have been saying for the last two weeks, and everyone keeps pushing Jeb and Trump

This might be the reason everyone’s only talking Jeb:

As much as I'd like to see Planned Parenthood to be defunded and or closed.
Don't doubt for a second that Barry wouldn't try something like folding them into HHS.

doesn’t make me scratch my head at all.....Trump has NO longtime imbedded conservative instincts. You can’t teach an old dog but so many new tricks. He’s done a marvelous job on tone and the establishment and Jeb and illegals...but he’s got that inner liberal.

This is not just morally reprehensible, it’s economically vapid too. Money is fungible....once you give PP money, it’s their money. They can fake the earmark for something else, but that frees up money for the abortions. This is a concept that many Freepers will ignorantly ignore.

It also speaks to his idea that government should be involved in healthcare....again, he’s DANGEROUS on Obama Care.

The writer is twisting Trump’s words. Trump clearly says he opposes funding abortion. Whether PP could misuse funds to continue funding abortions would be a matter to be handled through the law.

The headline and what was said in the article are completely 2 different things and one of the reason why Trump is soaring. We are tired of being lied to and deceived by the media.

Of course you wanna take a look first at what good(if any) they are doing before cutting off funding but definately the abortion part has to go, which is what he is clearly saying.

I don’t think Trump will get the nomination, but he is building momentum in the fight against the GOPe, And who stands to ultimately gain the most from it? That would be Cruz.

Trump is merely the lead blocker while Cruz is carrying the ball.

Yes, these things don't go away they just morph. Just like Acorn. How disappointing for the group who made the videos.

That’s how I read it. If you want to have gubment funding of an organization that hands out contraceptives, I’m not for it, but it’s not so reprehensible I’d shut down the gubment over it. But gubment funding of abortion? No. That’s how I read Trump’s comment.

Nolte is a good guy. Very fair. He has battled the anti-Trump/anti-Cruz people on Twitter diligently, though he’s not for either.

“There is a huge moral difference...”

Meh, morals might help you sleep at night, but there is no practical difference (well the GOP might get us to the same place a little slower I suppose).

From the interview it is clear Trump simply doesn’t understand the issue.

He is not an ideological conservative, has never really studied or intelligently debated these sorts of things, so he figures he can just go on shows and bluster his way through saying what he thinks Trumpsters want to hear.

He’s right. Trump could go back to his old pro-abortion position and Trumpsters would excuse it.

I never thought I would see the day that people who consider themselves conservative would come to the defense of funding Planned Parenthood, all money is fungible remember, all in the name of defending the latest grifter praying on us. If you give funds to PP earmarked for landscaping work on their clinics, that frees the equivalent amount for them to spend on abortion. The cult of personality must be a powerful thing to some. I do not personally understand it, but I can see it exists.

Where in this interview did he state a pro-abortion position? Can we start being intellectually honest when parsing statements.

Stop trotting out the same old fear-mongering crap with which the GOPe and it's lackeys have been bludgeoning us with for the last 10 years. Conservative grass-roots Americans are sick of being lectured to by a party that has has proven time and again that it has neither the spine nor the intent to oppose the Democrats.

Any one of your GOPe "electable" squishes will put Shrillary in the WH just as easily. .

As unsavory and abrasive as he is, Trump is still leaving all of the GOPe "electable" losers in the dust. He's popular because his message, more than any other candidate's resonates with the majority of Americans.

No matter how the GOPe whines and complains, there is no way that Trump or his followers will ever as George Will demands, "come to the GOP on [the party's] terms."

Americans have waited for a candidate like Trump for years. Trump will clean the floor with Hillary.
