During Thursday nights Republican presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio, Megyn Kelly of Fox News asked Ohio Gov. John Kasich a question about his decision to accept on behalf of his state an option under the Affordable Care Act (AKA Obamacare) to expand the number of people eligible for Medicaid by increasing the income threshold below which people qualify.
Kasich responded that President Ronald Reagan had expanded Medicaid three times and then discussed some of the things Ohio is doing with Medicaid money.
Everybody has a right to their God-given purpose, he said.
Snip
Megyn Kelly: Governor Kasich, you chose to expand Medicaid in your state, unlike several other governors on this stage tonight, and it is already over budget by some estimates costing taxpayers an additional $1.4 billion in just the first 18 months.
Snip
Why should Republican voters, who generally want to shrink government, believe that you won't use your Saint Peter rationale to expand every government program?

Kasich obviously doesnt know that when we talk about rights; one mans right can not impose upon another man an obligation. Rights of one man can not inflict a debt on another man.
The government does not have the power to tax one man to sustain another. The fact that the government does this is a violation of the constitution and usurpation of power not granted the Federal government under that constitution.
I for one do not want another man in the office of the presidency that is willing to defy the will of congress to impose his notion of moral government of the nation.
Everybody has a right to their God-given purpose, he said
What in the world is that supposed to mean, that people have a right to other peoples money or something
Seems to me that he is just another Christie.
Kasich will have to apoplogize to the voters of Ohio when the federal money runs out.
Like McConnell defends pushing obamacare funding to victory 4 times!! Kasich will lose to Trump in Ohio. Trump will spend his ass into oblivion. Go Trump. The time is NOW.
It’s bad enough when Republican politicians want to spend my money on other people, but when the other people are fraudulently documented foreigners, it really ticks me off.
Why would I vote for that?
Kasich:”It’s what god says”.
Reminds me of Pastor Manning(who talks about legitimate issues)
The Republican "leaders" in OH only represent each other. I agree. Trump's message is resonating.
I think that came out wrong. He is my governor, so I’ve listened to alot of his speeches. He means that every person has a God-given purpose in life - he just misspoke. He’s been saying this ever since the Medicaid debacle.
McCain clone.
Thanks. I appreciate that. Today has been a Gettysburg and we have won the day!! Go TRUMP!! They fired and missed.
indeed
IMHO Kasich’s only role was to dilute the Ohio primary by taking votes away from Walker, Cruz, and a couple of other candidates enabling a decent showing for Bush. Kasich isn’t in for the final ‘win’. Trump is kinda messing things up though....
Unfortunately there will be a lot of pastors and Christians who hear Kasich and will think he is doing God’s work.
When one’s shock absorbers go bad they happen so slowly you don’t notice they are shot.
God, as our provider of all is not looked to by Kasich and the like...they liken the government as ok and a God-sent provider which is a perversion of the Word and an actual displaced of God.
Obama care as Kasich has expanded comes with a lot of sins paid for forcefully by stealing from one person and given to another AND, paid for abortions and other perversions.
So back to the shock absorbers. Churches should provide the care and feeding of those in need...not enforceably and not to those who only take and take more...but in a teach to fish analogy. We have abandoned this and allows the government to usurp God. Kasich and those pastors and Christians who will be fooled are just that...fooled.
WHY???!!!
Because it is BAIT!
These politicians know going in to this that it a time limited offer. It is like an free trial offer from a magazine or premium TV channel on your cable. You get it free for 6 months and then you have to pay for it.
This money from the government will run out and then the state has to pick up the difference out of their general fund.
Medicare and Medicaid are already eating up huge portion of state budgets and with the baby boomers starting to flood the Medicare/Medicaid rolls this portion of the states budgets is growing every year without the expansion.
Entitlements will have to be dealt with eventually and this expansion of Medicaid will simply shorten the time available to deal with the tsunami of expenditures that are just on the horizon.
Underfunded retirement funds and Medicare/Medicaid will soon be a cataclysm that will bankrupt state, cities and the nation.
And add to those problems and onslaught of low skilled illegal aliens flooding the welfare rolls and we have an insurmountable tidal wave of people entitled to our money.
If we dont deal with these unfunded mandates they will destroy the nation.
Buh Bye. Jerk-and-a-half.
Whore.
God: "Leave me out of this."
