On Trump, Erick Erickson Rises To The Occasion (Rush Limbaugh Does Not)
Daily Caller ^ | 08/08/2015 | Matt K. Lewis

Posted on 08/08/2015 5:42:03 PM PDT by nhwingut

A while back, I urged Rush Limbaugh to use his incredible influence on the right and call out Donald Trump for his irresponsible comments. In the intervening weeks, Trump’s rhetoric only intensified. Yet, even after Thursday night’s GOP debate — when it became painfully obvious that Donald Trump is a liberal — Limbaugh continued to prop up The Donald. I don’t want to be accused of misrepresenting what he said, so I’ll simply provide the headline and link from his own website: “The Orders to Take Out Trump Must Have Gone to Fox, Not the Other Candidates.”

Even if Mr. Limbaugh buys this conspiracy theory that Fox News is somehow in cahoots with the Republican “establishment” to go after Trump (frankly, they were pretty hard on all the candidates), and even if Mr. Limbaugh doesn’t care about Trump’s unchivalrous attacks on Megyn Kelly, why is he so unconcerned about Trump’s obvious liberalism?

Erickson's suggestion that Trump crossed some line of decency is totally inconsistent with Erickson's own history of twitter posts.

Erickson's rather tasteless take on the Democratic Convention:

"First night of the Vagina Monologues in Charlotte going as expected.
— Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) September 5, 2012"

See Salon's list of Erickson's outrageous Twitter posts NSFW

Erickson making a very crude and insensitive joke: Here

Erickson's actions seem like they were motivated by some external considerations, not his own sense of propriety.

Easy. I care more about getting a real conservative elected than I do Trump making cheap points.

I love this country. The more damage Trump goes to the GOP, the better off the Dems will be next year. Do you want that?

Wow...who will be left after this weekend is over. Free Republic?

Only if FReepers keep donating instead of taking it for granted that others will do the heavy lifting for them.

“Erick joined a seminary and his religion has deepen. I’m sure he is ashamed of many things he has said in the past.”

Probably a good idea Erick the Dufus is moving in a different direction. His political commentary career is going to be sinking fast if his Facebook page comments are any indication. His audience is pretty pissed. I never liked him on Rush - I always groaned when I recognized his voice couldn’t shut the radio off fast enough.

I am hoping that RUSH announces today that Erickson will never again be a guest host,

Also will Hannity have the courage to stand up for Trump and Criticize Fox on the debate.

Hey they claim to be fair and balanced THEY ARE NOT, but iof they are going to continue that line, they certainly cant fire Shaun if he takes them on

Hey they claim to be fair and balanced THEY ARE NOT,

I don't see "fair and balanced", all I see is "we report what WE have decided for you to swallow, so SHUT UP and keep watching. Karl Rove knows best."
