What I would rather know is: Will any of the other candidates run as an independent if Trump wins the nomination? We in Virginia (and Alaska) know that GOPe will encourage and support independents over candidates they feel unacceptable.

I see Trump as the Republican version of Obama. No they don’ thave the same policies, beliefs, ideologies, but that “rock star” status, where people unwittingly fall all over themselves fawning over him and what he says.

Sure he’s saying things that need to be said, and bringing things to light that need to be discussed, but IMO this debate showed how light skinned he is, how he comes across as just a rude angry guy with a loud mouth, and NO SUBSTANCE to back up the things he’s saying. Just talking points that get attention. His plans...what are they? And has he ever explained HOW he plans to do what he says needs to be done? I’ve never heard it...he seems to always avoid the details. Just like Obama did.

I pray people see through that, sooner, rather than later. I for one, don’t trust Trump. His “evolvement” didn’t happen over a decade, like with Reagan (who was always a conservative, by the way, and Democrats were different back then), Trumps “evolvement” is more recent, like from 2013 to now...so that’s not enough time gone by with our current crop of political hacks he’s snuggled up to, to make me comfortable, with any of his conversions.

Just my $.02!

And....TED CRUZ won the night, IMO. Even though he was only asked 4 questions...he did the best, IMO.

Yeah... Trump knew this was coming. Something happened back stage. That’s why he had that pissed off look on his face when he came out.

Rush Limbaugh today said on his show that the big-money GOP-e bundlers put out the word today to take out Trump at all costs, they're tired of this.

Hence the "Take the Pledge" question at the beginning, and the #WarOnWomen question following.

However, the keys are twofold.

1) The Press *cannot* play the "We will restrict your oxygen and define you to the American people" as they did with Palin.

Palin could make her own oxygen, but could not control the spin; and, as an unknown, people accepted the Press's characterization of her.

Trump, however, is already known, and in his own way, popular for being the man everyone loves to hate : "You're FIRED."

So trying to sink him by showing how abrasive he is doesn't work, 'cause people knew that about him ANYWAY.

And since he is touching on chords that the Washington Cartel Uniparty long suppressed, that aggressive touch makes him even more popular.

2) Speaking of Rush Limbaugh, he said that the reason he remains successful, is that "if the press makes you, it can break you" : if you are merely a product of buzz, then the spotlight can be moved to someone else, and the fickle crowd will follow.

The press *believes* they created Trump. But they didn't: he touched on things people are really honestly fed up about. So attacks on him or moving the spotlight, will simply not work.

And the first question set the tone for the rest of the evening. Ambush journalism at its worst.

Fox knew going in the conservative base wouldn’t be happy with the set up...willing to loose the base for a bit to pull it off. They know people will come around after the fact....and they will...what other option is there?

If I was trying to destroy this country, what I would do is find a way to drive wedges between all the people, drive the debt to an unsustainable level, and then step off the stage as a world leader and let our enemies increase while we decreased our capacity as a military person.

Ben Carson said this and I think the subtext is that Obama has done every single thing on this list.

No, the disappointment was the lynching we saw FOX arrange for TRUMP.

If nothing else, the world saw tonight what American dirty tricks can look like, even when dressed up as a blonde with no clothes on, who does provocative bosom shots in a spread on herselfness.

Any support that goes elsewhere is creepy to let a FOX ambush against the front runner get a reward.

The appropriate response to the ridiculous "misogyny" claim would be to ask Megyn if she would be equally concerned about a candidate using disparaging terms toward other men. I'm sick and tired of certain (generally liberal) women trying to have it both ways: On the one hand, they demand to be considered to be no different than a man, yet on the other they want to be treated more gently because of their gender.

Either women are equal to men, just as capable of being anything up to and including trained killers in the military, or they are fragile little flowers who must be shielded from even insensitive remarks lest they wilt in response. Choose one or the other Megyn.

Much thanks for the analysis. I’m surprised that Cruz is in the middle of the pack. I would have guessed he would be last.

Did you do the count?
If not, who did.

it was set up to make the “Winners” look bad..... actually Fox made it easy for those ‘not’ at the head of the game

I can accept that. However, it was like Fox used an IED to take out the winners, and the rest were hurt as collateral damage by just being there at this fiasco.

Not to mention he coupled Alinsky to Hillary. *Very* inside baseball, there. But red meat to the politically informed right.

It was a disgusting display. As I recall, little was done by the moderators to check the many people here calling for Terri to be killed. It was appalling, really.

Sometimes I wonder about this site, but I’m still here. There are many good people here too.

Do you recall the other night when Megyn cut into her own night show with her world-shaking scoop on Trump's rape-rape?

All she needed was a fork and spoon to really enjoy the treat she was reading pell-mell to her viewers.
