WASHINGTON -- Donald Trump thinks the United States will not see another black president for some time because Barack Obama has "set a very poor standard," the billionaire businessman, entertainer and Republican presidential candidate told ABC News on Sunday. Trump -- who has questioned whether Obama was born in the United States and was once sued by the Justice Department because the management of his apartment complexes allegedly discriminated against black tenants -- also thinks he'll win the black vote.
Trump responded to a question on the show about a tweet he sent last year saying America would not see another black president for generations because of how poorly he thought Obama had done.
"He has done nothing for African Americans. You look at what's gone on with their income levels. You look at what's gone on with their youth. I thought that he would be a great cheerleader for this country. I thought he'd do a fabulous job for the African American citizens of this country. He has done nothing," Trump said.

It is going to be difficult to go back to business as usual in the political world after Trump has let the cat out of the bag. People want the truth, Trump’s truth telling has paved the way for other honest people to get involved in politics. The dam is going to break.
At least 80% of Americans vote based on a logic that none of us would recognize as logic at all.
I remember my grandmother and grandfather arguing about a CA governor race.
Grandpa thought Re3agan had the correct solution for the bulk of the issues facing that state.
Grandma disagreed because "I just don't like him".
It's kinda like some actor or actress that you "just don't like" because the rub you in the wrong way for some undiscernable reason.
I'm that way with Meryl Streep. I just don't like her.
By the same standard we shouldn't be electing white guys either, based on past performance by some of them.
He is right.

It is the truth. If Carson or West had been elected, then a good example would have been set. But the Obama example has been poison to American Blacks and they know it.

Ben Carson is black and he’s a viable candidate that many will vote for (except for his stupid misunderstanding about minimum wage laws, but he can be schooled on that).
There is and has been a good track record of White Presidents. So it goes that more are expected with disappointments along the way.
It was important that the first Black President be a stellar example. That opportunity has been wasted.
Just remember - Obama is the greatest black man to have ever lived. Anyone who comes after him will be WORSE.

He’s right...add in Ferguson, Baltimore and the overall black communities unwillingness to see the problems within their culture it’s really quite apparent that most people have had enough of the race baiting and consistent victim-hood spouted on every corner.
All these years of programs and money thrown at assisting blacks has helped only a very precious few rise above their circumstances....the will to do so isn’t there to overcome from within.
You nailed it - it’s the race factor that kept all serious criticism away from our first radical Left-wing/Marxist/Muslim in the White House. If it’s a black conservative or a female conservative in the Game, all the big Guns come out to destroy him/her.
