The majority are clean, and the food is good. Yes they sell large sodas but they also sell almost everything else.
The German Autobahn may be fun, but the American Transportation system is second to none.

Embarrassingly, true. I’m half Italian and visit my gramps villa every 2-3 years. I love it there but don’t want to stay. The concept of simply lining up is totally lost to these clowns. Even getting groceries is like entering a subway train, no order. And they think Americans are uncultured sheesh. You converse with someone is like yelling at someone which you have to raise your voice.

ha~when I lived in Northern Germany and was pregnant with my son—I would crave American (junk) food desperately. (you can only eat so much schnitzel) Anyhow, I would drive to a truck stop that had a Pizza Hut.

The places are clean, the food is good and fresh and I have yet to see a six gallon soda cup.
If you are traveling you want to stop where the trucks are. Their job is not a lot of fun but food is the one thing they can control. And I have yet to run across a OTR trucker who could not tell you the best places in town to eat.
Oh, yes, "America sucks", right? I tire of these bleating elitist Pajama-boy beta-male types. They can't hold a candle to the real American men who drive 18 wheelers.

Just jealousy. The Swiss have long been the smartest folk in Europe. During WWII, when everyone was choosing sides, the Swiss told everyone to go eff themselves - after first accepting their money for safekeeping.
One does not drink a large soda while driving on the Autobahn at 150+mph.
They have soda machines with beer as a selection. Drop in your coins and press the button for the local beer and Presto, beer for the road.
Now that is different from American highways.
And if you think that those southern Europeans are troublesome when it comes to waiting in lines then you likely would have issues with those camera toting Japanese tourists. They do not know what a line is. They just swarm.
Cultural distinctions exists. I prefer ours and I disdain others.
